I suppose Portland is ideal for homeless drug users and criminals...so it's not disingrating for them.

But a family or a normal person would say that if the parks are filled with drug users and tent cities of homeless and downtown is the site for open drug deals and windows are boarded up....then disintegration is taking place.

And there you go. Nothing but RW talking points.

Where do you think Portland ranks for actual crimes?

That's not even the topic. That is not my concern. The topic is what city would you not want to live in. Portland is number one on my will not live City list.

YET new york doesn't make my "do not live" list...even though it's a liberal strong hold. So I think the talking points are in your own head.

I responded to your post. If your talking points aren't on topic, that's on you.

Maybe you need to stick to the topic.

Nah. You'll still go to jail if you defend yourself there with a firearm, for example. Or if you dont pay your fine for straight-piping someones exhaust. Or use violence to prevent theft... They have laws, they just arent particularly geared towards maintaining order.

Portland isn't remotely near the top of cities with high crime rates.

    Look it up.

I've been on topic. It's you that thinks Crime is the topic. I'm sorry to offend you by not liking your city. All I can say is I hope you stay and enjoy it.

I hate Texas, all of it. It's dry and dirty and it's the Fourth Reich and happy to be that way

Interesting. Seems you don't know much about Texas. Kinda reminds me of the time Stephen Stills got caught on tape on 4-Way Street when he lectures an audience member that one thing the blues ain't is funny. Well, one thing Texas ain't is dry. Least ways not here in Houston it ain't.

Oh? Why do you automatically assume that the opinions of "some people" are necessarily "unfounded"...? A person need not spend an entire lifetime in some of these liberal-infested pestholes to know that they're badly-governed, overtaxed, under-policed, covered in filth and disease, and crawling with more of the kind of slobs, poor and rich, that make living in such cities a misery.

All of Texas, DRY? Dirty? The "Fourth Reich"? The air is so wet in Central and South Texas that the humidity will kill you, even if the heat doesn't. In the capital city of Austin, precipitation averages around 35.5 inches of rainfall per year.

"Fourth Reich"...? Ha! Austin is probably the most disgustingly hyperliberal city from San Francisco east all the way to Chicago. Consider -- a goofy liberal Democrat, 'Beto' O'Rourke won a majority in the governor's race last month in 19 counties across Texas, including the large population centers of Dallas, Harris (Houston), Travis (Austin), and El Paso counties.

One thing you wisely did not criticize -- the Texas highways! The best (BEST) in the United States!

Little of both. If I still lived in Tampa I probably never would have brought one. I stick to back roads every chance I get. And thank you!

Opinions are based upon fact. I think that's where the distinction lies. So, it's not "automatic"; it's based upon fact.

That's your response to me debunking your silly post about Portland? You posted it; I debunked it.

If it's "not the topic", don't post fairytales about it.

So you basically want to make sure only certain people have access to them? If you have a criminal record should your license be taken away forever?

When you think about it..... " Debunking " is kind of a dog whistle for " I listen to the talking points and I can regurgitate them ".

So you're basically just giving the official storyline... Whatever flavor that might happen to be at this particular hour in this particular context

I wasn't the one comparing them to cars

I agree, ex-felons that have down their time have a right to own guns - want to punish them longer, sentence them longer, that is the way it's supposed to work

if we tried to ban their religion or speech, I think some would get it

In your Post #44 you evidently forgot to include some of those 'facts' you base your opinion on. It was probably just an oversight, so perhaps you'd like to provide some links to your fact-based sources now...?

Here, below you'll see your Post #44, copied and presented here for easy reference:
"Because it's easy for some people to arrive at unfounded opinions based on, well, RW talking points. if they have little to no personal experiences to rely on."

    Thank you....

You're the one that just said maybe we should treat guns like cars.... You said that right?

Because I'm pretty sure the post has your name on it.

Or do you rather that we should treat cars like guns? Because then there would be a whole slew of people that would not be allowed to drive

    I was being sarcastic

right now there is a whole slew of people that can't own a gun, the right is not a right, it's a privilege

when you have to have a privilege to have a right, it's no longer a right

You're correct but for one important distinction.... There's no such thing as operating a motor vehicle as a right within the Constitution.

But that what you are correct about?...... Is the very stuff about people being fed up.. that created the formation of America as we know it
