First, in a nuclear war the American oligarchs will lose everything.
Second, why do you need Alaska for? It's cold, it's rocky (earthquakes) and the gold is already gone.
Third, Russia can hardly manage the current territory now. Diminishing population. Adding more territory just for the sake of it is not very smart.

It is not a cruiser. It carries, launches, and recovers fixed wing combat aircraft. That is the definition of an aircraft carrier.

They call it a cruiser for political purposes. The Montreax Agreement bans aircraft carriers from passing through the Bosphorus, so they call it a “cruiser” to get around that.

It’s no different than the Japanese “helicopter destroyers”. They are light carriers, but their Constitution bans them from operating carriers, so they euphemistically call them “helicopter destroyers” to get around it.

Same with the British Invicible class. The British Parliament wouldn’t approve funds for new carriers, so the British Navy called them “Through-Deck Cruisers” for political reasons to secure funds, but they were still aircraft carriers.

BTW, I’d love to see your source for your claim that Americans called Iraqi hand grenades “WMDs”.
