You are like a little kid. Do not want to believe in what you do not like. Although it has long been known. Even the CIA in the 80s said that it was true. But you close your eyes and, like a child, repeat - "This can not be."
Do not want to believe, do not believe. Keep waving your flag and repeating after Hitler and Obama - "We are an exclusive nation". Maybe it will be easier for you to live in illusions.

The "ski jump carriers" were always so ridiculous.

They looked like an abandoned half pipe project a bored kid built in his backyard.

I was in the US Navy during the cold war, and nobody took those silly things seriously.

But they could operate in the arctic which the steam catapult based carrier had trouble to do.

Making it a goofy design that filled a very tiny niche.

Electromagnetic catapults solved the arctic problem anyway.

Russia's last goofy ski slope carrier is headed for the breakers.

The UKs goofy ski slope carriers are still a joke.

It accidentally sank its last drydock IIRC.

If a nuclear war begins, I will just change the cable channel.

Melt it down....make some water heaters, toilet bowl handles, pipes for plumbing, for residents in Siberia.....I'm sure they'll appreciate the luxury.

The Kuznetsov is the only known aircraft carrier to be known to have been completely knocked out of service by a crane.

All U.S. Navy aircraft carriers have been warned to keep a safe distance from Russian cranes that are more deadly that an anti ship cruise missile.

Russian Navy may scrap its only Admiral Kuznetsov aircraft carrier

On October 30, 2018, Russia’s Only Aircraft Carrier Huge Floating Dry Dock Has Accidentally Sunk while Russia’s aircraft carrier Admiral Kuznetsov was aboard. :roflol:

Floating drydock holding the Admiral Kuznetsov sank following a power supply failure, causing one of the dock’s cranes to fall onto the carrier’s deck, :eyepopping: leading to warship repair plant workers being injured. The incident left a 4×5-meter hole in the vessel’s flight deck.

Now Russian Navy is considering prematurely decommission of its only aircraft carrier after then the PD-50 floating drydock that housed it sank

Russia’s only aircraft carrier, the Admiral Kuznetsov, may be decommissioned if the Ministry of Defense and industry wouldn’t resolve the question of the replacing the PD-50 floating drydock needed to complete the repair of the ship hull, was reported by newspaper Izvestia, citing a source in the Russian Navy.

Now the largest Russian Navy surface combatant ship is waiting for the decision of its fate near the wall of the 35th Repair Plant in Kola Bay near Murmansk.

Russia does not own a suitable replacement for PD-50 built-in 1980 in Sweden for the Soviet Navy...

What is the issue with ski jump carriers? They appear to be a reasonable design in lofting jets
    with less energy, no?

    They look ridiculous.

And a country in America's position can not afford to be made to look ridiculous!

Big deal, they've been able to do that since they introduced the Hotel class back in the 60s

Putin's little midget torpedoes are pretty pathetic. A real tsunami torpedo has a yield of a gigaton.

Maybe that’s what Trump and Vlad were discussing in their private no notes meeting in Helsinki after Trump symbolically blew Putin on the world stage. Those two bullshit artists are a real pair to draw to. Couple of blowhard ********s.

The US can exceed 6.75 megatons per ton. I doubt that Russia could match that feat however.

Note the following in the Restricted Data Declassifications:

    V. NUCLEAR WEAPONS AND RELATED TECHNOLOGY
    C. THERMONUCLEAR WEAPONS
    2. Weapon Characteristics
    b. The fact that tests were conducted of designs which could lead to an entirely new class of U.S. weapons which could have relatively low weights and extremely high yields, with the fission contributions decreased to only a few percent of the total yield. (63-1)
    c. The fact that the yield-to-weight ratios of the new class of weapons would be more than twice that which can now be achieved in the design of very high yield weapons using previously developed concepts. (63-1)
    e. "... some improvement in high yield weapons design could be achieved and that new warheads -- for example, a 35 Mt warhead for our Titan II -- based on these improvements, could be stockpiled with confidence." (63-3)

    https://sgp.fas.org/othergov/doe/rdd-7.html#I49

So far as I know the throw weight of the Titan II was only 3700 kg.

All aircraft launched by a ski jump are inferior in terms of range and payload to aircraft launched by catapult.
