Why hasn't the left gone all frothing mad about the School Shooting in Perry Iowa?

I know, another school shooting, yesterday. It happened in Iowa, Perry to be exact. One student shot by the teen shooter, and the shooter himself dead. 5 others injured.

Can anyone explain why the collective/left haven't immediately grasped onto this shooting?

Could it be that the shooter, according to their own social media, turned out to be a really conflicted/confused LGBT+ member?

I just don't understand their reluctance to try to make political hay from this particular shooting. Or does this one hit too close to home, and once it was determined that the shooter was the wrong demographic, they circled the wagons?

 

Exhaustion from dealing with all the other shootings. Besides, the issue isn't the gender identity of a shooter, it's easy access to guns and the normalization of slaughter by way of gun violence fomented by the NRA.

 

It isn't the right kind of shooting to get their interest. If this person wasn't gender neutral they'd be all over it like white on rice

Did the cops catch the gun yet? I think that gun should get life in prison FO SHO!

 

Seems the law abiding were disarmed that day in that place. Perhaps, if the students entering had to go through the same security I do prior to kicking someone out of the home I recently foreclosed upon while entering, the little they/them wouldn't have been able to commit this atrocity.
Perhaps if gun rights orgs, and commonsense basic security advocates (often the same persons), had been heeded and this policy implemented this wouldn't have occurred.

Perhaps if leftist orgs didn't push the idea that words are violence that should be opposed with physical struggle, a person complaining of being misgendered wouldn't have gone schizo and shot up the place.

 

I guess we restart the safety clock.

I think exhaustion. It's not news anymore. It's just routine. America has an unusually bad problem with guns or mental health or both. Same **** different school.

 

Republicans are seizing on the fact that social media removes accounts vs making them read only to make up whatever they want as a narrative

I'm a libertarian myself, so I can point and laugh at the lot of you.

 

This is a good thing actually. The less the media goes nuts on these stories, the less they will happen. Not only did this person fit into the media's no fly zone because of the whole gender thing, but he also didn't use a scary killy looking pew pew gun.

 

The NRA was founded in 1871, so it's not on them. And when you say gender isn't the issue, if the guy was wearing a MAGA hat would that be an issue?

He used a more deadly weapon at close range than the ferocious AR 15-a pump shotgun-but the doesn't fit into the anti gun narrative (yet). he also had a small caliber handgun. Plus he had obvious mental illness-the kind that is favored by the same people who want to ban guns. He didnt' fit the narrative for the anti gun left's agenda

 

do you know how he obtained the guns? he is not legally allowed to buy either (and let's not forget he was committing the most serious offense in state law by killing another)
