"If you're going to call me names, I'm going to deny you a legal right to marry."

    Is that what you're staying?

Have a look at your post here where you repeatedly call AKR names.

You quoted Cntrl, not me. Get it straight.
If they get the right to marry? Good for them, I will never agree its normal or acceptable. But if they get the law then its law and I will not disrespect that.
I dont refer to the gays here or anywhere in less than respectful terms. I expect the same.

I hope you're right! I want to get that SHYT out of the spotlight and work on stuff that matters, like an economy that favors the middle class workers over Wall Street and corporations!

As an American, you must accept that an individual's civil rights are guaranteed by the Constitution and so, for example, it would not have mattered if a vote were held that showed the public opposed to interracial marriage at the time the Supreme Court nullified State statutes against it. Nor would it then follow that Congress should initiate an Amendment outlawing such equality.

We already know the public, including NRA members, overwhelmingly support ending the permissive loopholes in background checks by which criminals and crackpots can easily access firearms, but a political lobby intimidates enough politicians into following their orders and ignoring the People's will. A national vote would not embolden such quislings. The ballot box is available to redress that matter.

    Wrong on both counts.
Gay marriage is not a "civil right".
And where is this overwhelming support for the types of gun control?
The last gun control bill failed.

The Supreme Court will adjudicate whether adult couples enjoy equal rights under marriage law regardless of gender, as it had determined, in Loving v Virginia, regardless of race.

Of course, I had already noted the failure of politicians to reflect the public sentiment for strengthening permissive firearm purchase background checks.

The only public sentiment you know about back ground checks is what the main stream media is telling you.
    Guess what, they lied.

Yup, you're totally right and your arguments aren't ridiculous at all. You're going to believe that either way, so why not just save myself some time.

I just had to go back and skim your post and find all of the gems. I think this really sums it up for most anti-gay rights people. Bigoted, afraid of being overpowered by their own homosexual urges, and not basing anything on science.

    A) it's still the majority. B) quote where anyone in this thread used that 90% number, otherwise, it's just a strawman.

I gave you an honest reply... and that is all you got. You cannot even bring yourself to READ the thing, and you want to talk to me about fear? I have no fear of "becoming" gay... I told you that people do. This seems to scare YOU, not I. You NEED to believe it is something native, something... different. Tell me some more about this fear. What are you, specifically, afraid of? That the world is not black and white?

Prison, was one of SEVERAL examples I gave of circumstances which negate the assertion that "you just are, or are not". Rather than address the truth of the circumstance, which you chose to apply to me personally "sucking some guys dick". Why I am the target of your homoerotic fantasies is beyond me... but you chose to personalize it to me. Answering your question logically results in your declaration that I am afraid I might turn gay, and reflects it is likely YOU afraid of it.

I do not require a government funded study to tell me if feces smells bad.

That you do reflects poorly on you, not I.

Maybe you could quit being a coward and address the entire post. Maybe you could somehow muster the courage from under your tolerance cloak, worn to defend that which you yourself fear.

You are a bigot. You are prejudiced against my prejudice, and are fearful to explore any opinion contrary to yours. You are an intellectually dishonest bigot.
I am also a bigot. I am less inclined to hang around people I don't like. I don't want to hang out with hippies anymore. There was a time they were my only companions... but... I grew up. Pot doesn't help them seem interesting anymore. (*)(*)(*)(*) a spangeing rainbow kid. Go get a job. We all have our bigotry. I am a bigot, because two dudes kissing turns my stomach. Do you have a more honest explanation for the circumstance? I mean... I could stamp my feet and say "I'm just born that way". I guess that could be my argument... but unlike you... I am NOT intellectually dishonest. I just recognize we are both bigots. I think everyone is bigoted in their own way, but again... being honest... I know thieves think everyone steals to. So I have to hold that it is probable EVERYONE is not a bigot...

but I am... and so are you.

Rather than address the answers I gave... the logic and evidence therein... you have to cherry pick things I said, honestly about myself, and try and rearrange them to create a profile of a person I am not, so that you can categorize me as something you are already bigoted against. In this way you can exploit your politically correct bigotry, without having to address my arguments... which is where the dishonesty part comes from. You can marginalize my position because I am suddenly the blond kid in the skeleton costume chasing Daniel-son around in the parking lot.

    That isn't me.

All Loving established was that a person has the right to marry the person of the opposite sex of his choice it says nothing for or about being able to marry the person of the same sex of your choice. That would be an entirely new right; and one that would be of no benefit whatever to 95% of the populace; but I wouldn't be a bit suprised if SCOTUS found such a right in the constitution. SCOTUS has been finding new rights for most of the last fifty years, more than a few of them inimical to already stated rights encoded in the constituion.

So, that entitles you to just project that claim onto everyone on the left? I think not.

Seems all the lefties on this board love to throw that around, so yea. Its projected.
And let me ask, if it was so right and so needed. Why did the bill fail?
The NRA is not that powerful.

Well, lying comes easy to you. "A million times"? " All the way up to and including the...president of ours"? Do you believe that the President posts on these threads? BTW the 90% figure was the percentage of the public that WANTED background checks. The 65% are those who thought that a particular bill should have passed.

The flawed logic of the right keeps dummies voting for Republicans.

Oh, I know, I know!! Because Republicans worry more about their donors and re-election than doing the right thing. Some Democrats did the same thing.

And that 90% was a lie and that 65% should have thought better.
Going against the 2A is political suicide for a politician.
