No that hasn’t been the mantra. No one said it would take two weeks for things to level out. But if you have links supporting such claim please share.

Wrong on so many levels, you want me to behave in ways that protect you! Wrong! You behave in ways that protect you! I don't buy the bullshit!

TX and FL didn’t “buy the bullshit” and the cases are through the roof there. Then look at states that did “buy the bullshit” where the cases are far lower. Coincidence? Doubtful.

If you want to stay home that is up to you. To restrict my rights to protect you is wrong. You do what you need to do, I do what I need to do and all will work out. What don't you understand?

some say the reason Trump shutdown the economy is because he knew it was failing, and the only way for him to inject trillions into the mega corps was to use the virus crisis to do so, if that did not work, he would blame it on the virus, win\win as far as Trump was concerned

    A) I don’t stay home. Given you don’t know me it’s very odd you’d make such a statement.
    B) I personally don’t give a rats ass what you do, which is why I didn’t tell you what to do.
    What don’t YOU understand???

There are people like Trump, who don't care for the life of others. They cannot be trusted to make decisions. This is a known condition. They are called sociopaths. And they belong in an institution.

No doubts a second surge is possible given the ignorance of certain states.

    Knew that excuse was coming.

    So florida/texas/California were ignorant?

Wrong. No more or less than NY NJ etc.

If masks and lockdowns work, there is No fear of a surge where people are doing all the right things

As I said: give it time, every state will be dealing with this, no matter what they try, no matter how much they yap away and make excuses.

My neighbor got back from his construction project in Atlanta today. He is mid-sixties, has a heart condition and said he is wearing two masks now, an industrial N-95 under and a surgical mask over. I told him I was going to give that intense consideration.

Mama said something is better than nothing. So I concluded that two masks is even more better than nothing. I wore two masks into Lowes today, and as it was crowded like Christmas, and I'm glad I did. It's considerably harder to breathe, but that being the case, most likely less particulate gets in or out.

You can't just stop living and stay cooped up indefinitely.

Masks, handwashing, and distancing ain't a much but it's just about all there is available. Pitiful, but modern science as of yet has very little to offer people.

At some point almost everybody is going to have antibodies -- either through being a host and beating it (asymptomatically or clinically), or through a vaccine. The only question is can the proliferation be held down to a manageable rate. So far so good.

I prefer that science puts it in a higher gear and gets off their posticus with the vaccine delivered fast, like August 1.

The shutdowns are hurting the economy. If the various states did not shutdown, the Chinese Virus notwithstanding, the unemployment level would not be as high. It wouldn't be close.

Your argument is being against opening up our economy because of the Chinese Virus. Keeping that in mind, do you think the government should allow these protests? If so, explain how that is not hypocrisy.

Because If I'm going to get sick from breathing, its going to be at work -in the sewer- not at the mall.

So as to your OP- why do you think anyone would be trying to emulate Trump?

What Trump does was never and is never going to effect what I do. I am my own person, not looking for a role model or someone to emulate... I'm no more likely to wear a mask because Trump does than I am to wear a suit because Trump does or to play tennis because Trump does or etc.

You do understand that when something like a disease is brand-spanking-new, then the learning curve is pretty steep, and new information comes out constantly, right? It's not as if the disease showed up and scientists said, "OMG - we know everything about this thing we learned about five minutes ago, but we need to pretend to not know, and keep the public confused."

Does that sound logical to you? My buddy Occam says you are nuts if you believe a brand new disease can be understood completely within a few days or weeks. These things take a lot of time to research.

But, congrats to you on being absolutely perfect the day you are introduced to a new thing. That's a very valuable skill and I would venture a guess that you are the first person in the history of people to have such an amazing skill!!! Why aren't you using this skill to teach the scientists about this new disease?

I see. So you're the type that doesn't tell a potential sexual partner that you have an STD. How very selfish of you.

It's amazing that doctors & nurses can wear masks for very long periods of time, isn't it? When you need surgery, do you tell your surgeon and his support team that they shouldn't bother wearing masks, so they can breathe while they operate?
