Is that because the law-abiding citizens are still being law-abiding? When you remove firearms from the populace, do you think criminals will care to abide by these laws, and when you call for the police, it's too late?

it's all about odds. but the victim-the one who survived was anti gun from what I recall. in his case, having one might have changed things since the mopes took his wife to the bank to withdraw money after clubbing him

well as I have noted, guns are like parachutes-if you need one and don't have it-chances are you will never need anything else again (save a funeral home)

Relatively few own guns in AUS and UK. Why haven't those govts killed off tens of millions of it's citizens?
What does CA have to do with federal govt? Nothing. The US is not becoming a tyrannical country, because for that to be the case then the Repubs are to blame to, right? They'd have to be since you know...checks and balances.
The Dems are in fact NOT doing what they want as I have already pointed out with the federal assault weapons ban example. Another example is the student loan forgiveness that was, thankfully, squashed. If the Dems were doing, as you say, what they want, the loan forgiveness would have gone into effect. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

What police? The Democrats are trying to ban those, too.

    I don't understand your premise.

Where is the "argument" when he basically just said that he reminded him of the guy in that case?

I could understand calling it an argument from anecdote if he had said this invasion happened, therefore a person is safer in the home with a gun etc, but when simply saying you remind me of that particular guy in this particular situation, such a statement does not require some sort of scientific proof.

I've always lived by the following.

"It's best to have a gun a not need it than to need a gun and not have one."

I too go out in public unarmed and without fear. But I get there are some people who are fearful of being in public without a gun. To each his/her own.

    Hi again Turtledude.

Can I assume you walk around with a parachute? :) As I said, reasoning from anecdote doesn't pass the logic test.

The paradox is guns make some people feel safer without being safer.

    Hi, ECA.

I must admit that I feel sorry for those who have convinced themselves to live their lives in fear.

    Hi, Lee Atwater.

That's because they've first made themselves feel afraid.

    Hi, FAW.

You might ask yourself, 'Why did 'Turtledude' post what he/she did specifically to me? That should clarify things for you.

    Regards, stay safe 'n well.

How do you know we aren't safer? Unlike the UK, murders in The United States are going down.

I'm not familiar with the UK however, in AUS we can blame John Howard (PM at the time in 1996), without a referendum made it illegal to own or sell military-style firearms because of the Port Arthur Massacre, which is so full of BS (the media narratives).

Who runs the state, a politician, yes? So here are just some of the great deeds the Dems have done...
    1. Facilitating a Deadly Border
    2. Shipping Illegals to a Community Near You
    3. Holding Kids Hostage to Trans Radicalism
    4. Tapping into Emergency Petroleum Reserves
    5. Botching the Afghanistan Withdrawal
    6. Supporting Child Castration and Sterilization
    7. Driving up Inflation
    8. Letting Babies Go Hungry
    9. Forcing the Covid Jab
    10. Scheming to Enact Abortion Radicalism
    11. Tanking His Own Approval
    12. Defunding the police

As for Cali, what's with the law that thieves can steal up to $950 worth of merch and the cops won't lift a finger?

Where do you think the bulk of the money the government gets to pay for this? Taxpayer dollars. The list is :above:

If you aren't afraid, then why are you demanding guns be banned?

There are over four hundred million guns in the US. If they tried to take our guns, only the law abiding would give up their guns. We would then end up with millions of guns in the hands of criminals and the law abiding would be defenseless.

I would give up my guns in a second, if it would save one life. However, it won't.

no but I don't have the opportunity to do so.

I do have a gun available and helped me stop two break ins and a violent mugging
everyone who deals with violent criminals professionally tend to carry. cops, judges, prosecutors, defense attorneys, probation officers, bail bondsmen, support staff of those professionals etc.

why do you think that is
