What this is saying is that "Quick everyone stop driving with seat belts, air bags, safety glass, and brake checks"!
I said I wasn't sure it was accurate, and didn't pass it off as fact, on some level it makes sense, and I won't say it's wrong either.
Define, 'recovered'? You see, I don't think that someone who survive multiple Covid strokes, relearning how to think, let alone how to use their limbs, would view themselves as recovered. Nor would someone placed on an organ donor list for replacement organs, consider themselves recovered. https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/11763754/mild-case-coronavirus-long-term-organ-damage/
What's the obsession with death? More people are are disabled due to car accidents, than die in car accidents. More people are disabled by Covid, than die from same.
A few months ago I was in a car accident; I wasn't hurt seriously. The next evening I sat out in my back yard drinking beer with my neighbor and the following day his wife was involved in an accident. Do you think this would indicate community spread?
For people who seem to worship RO or R naught here is the truth of why it is severely flawed. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3157160/
The fact the amount of recoveries could be near 2 million by now is quite reassuring. What’s narcissistic about people getting better?
Not so reassuring are the tens of thousands (gonna be 200 tens of thousands when this is all done) who WON'T survive...not that you care...
Yeah, I'd say "paranoid" more than narcissistic. If we charted and headlined how many people were diagnosed, hospitalized and die from heart disease every day, people might freak out. Some people will panic over whatever the media tells them to panic over.
Yes by New Years there won’t even be two people who can kiss much less restart the human race. We are doomed as a species! Arghhhhh!
I’m sorry but before this it was Greta and AOC and XR and their prophecies of human extinction. ENOUGH! Life isn’t that bad. Be happy ! We’ve been through so much worse! It’s like optimism is the enemy! WTF!
I don't have a link, but they cited two cases on TV news, the other day. I'm sure it's on the net, somewhere.
Looking at the top 20 countries' Deaths/100,000 I am personally looking at the avg. 99,950+ who are still alive to tell about it. And taking deaths/cases has always been pessimistic bad math anyway, because cases can be controlled by number of tests.
You can get the flu and the common cold again. Covid is a lot more related to them than it is to measles or chickenpox.
How is it more related? But I have to reiterate that I remain more bewildered by how we ignore big threats and fixate on small threats and I think it’s because we feel we can control c-19 and we feel we can’t control cancer or CVD. Of course the first remains a fiction but one we like!
