You find a thread questioning god flamebait? Do you consider a thread listing the greatness also flamebait? Do you find it amusing when someone says their prayer was answered when 12M prayers go unheard every day? Prayer is like a crap shoot maybe sometime the odds will be in a persons favor and things will turn out. There is no god involved. Why does this supposedly loving god allow the starvation while he fills the pockets of others. The very idea of a god is asinine.

Like I said there are medications designed to take away the voices. Scripture is like ready the Lord of the Rings. It's the same thing. A fancy tale to tickle ears but not to be taken seriously.

    Guess you cannot. How sad.

I will always put my 'faith' in mankind. I think mankind is on the verge of doing great things. We are on the verge of unlocking the fountain of youth. We are on the verge of wiping out diseases such as Alzheimer, diabetes, etc. We are on the verge of traveling out to the stars, finding other planets to live on and spread life to where ever it is feasible to sustain life. We are on the verge of creating life from scratch.

Many great things ahead for the human race and many good reasons to put your faith in mankind. There are no good reasons to put your 'faith' into some super natural myth who supposedly can create this big vast universe, but yet, will allow people to die by the thousands via starvation.

Lets hear your rebuttal, errrr I mean scripture to 'refute' this.

How can the Atheist ruin this thread when this thread was started by an Atheist?

If you total up all the charity given by US government and private and corporate charities, the USA far exceeds anything given by all other countries combined.

What I find flamebait is the constant mocking of God and those who choose to believe in a higher power. I don't see, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, believers mocking those who choose not to. I am not perticularly religious, but I respect those who are more religious than I. You are free to not believe, but why waste time hating those who choose to believe? Many who do believe work hard to end hunger and famine in nations that are less fortunate. I think that you would be better served to do likewise with your spare time than spreading hate.

It was very little to do with bowing. It was showing how some children look when they are on the verge of starving to death, in contrast to Tebow's claims that God is somehow "helping him," while God's absence is lacking. You went completely off the topic and didn't address the problem of evil at all. The only reason I responded was because your response was so irrelevant it surprised me. Complete and utter dodge.

It is not my hating those who believe, it is me asking questions about those beliefs.

I separate the person from the belief.

I am not questioning whether or not human work can help end starvation, but why a supposedly good god allows such atrocities to occur. Why claim that god is good when there is so much to be said to the contrary? The Problem of Evil.

Solution: I'm the only real human being here, so God answers my prayers. The rest of you are computer generated NPC's so don't matter.

Perhaps so. We all exist just to make it appear to you that you aren't the only human who is alive :p.

    Sure you do.

And you also like to change goal posts. This is after all a thread started about an issue that popped up, and was answered, and teh question of evil is introduced by you in every thread you particpate in - that and homosexuality.

It doesn't seem to matter that dozens of posters have repeatedly answered this question of YOURS, and that there are literally dozens of responses a quick search away on google - you never referrence any of them and just plow straight ahead as if you are offering a question (a million times) rather than an indictment (a million times).

The excuses you offer to try to dress up what is clearly an emotional issue for you are just that.

I am trying to make a point. You have yet to hear. Call it what you will. The most vile posts on this thread have been in fact posted by you trying to defend a god of love. LOL go figure.

Then I guess you have failed to read any of overdrives posts. His posts are the most vile judgmental on the thread. I don't hate those that choose to believe. I have never said that. It seems like all the faithful do is put words in others mouths. Most of what I am accused of posting I have never once said. Now you blame me for spreading hate. I'm sorry do you want to show me where I stated that.

I guess your side just makes it up as it goes along. I have been called angry and hateful and even told that I said you all suck. Never said and of that. I have been told that I hold up science and have never used the word science except to say I never said that word. You people might want to understand what you read before you make your judgmental accusations. Which of course your god told you not to do.

So I suggest instead of pointing fingers at me you all get your act together and figure out what your god is saying and what he is not. That way you might practice what you preach. Maybe then someone will listen to the drone.

    This AGAIN?

Why is one atheist after another comes in and says absolutely horrific and offensive things and then blames others for being impolite? Always the victims these guys.

Tell me, is there like a test to become an atheist? Because you all make the same 'points' and you all justify them in exactly the same way, by blaming the people you insult and hiding behind the God of love crap that means no one should hold you accountable.

Sorry sis, but a lack of standards and accountability is not Love. It does, however, appear to be atheism.

I have been called names and judged. I have had numerous words put in my mouth as to what I have said and not said. I have been accused and insulted time and again.

I have pointed out there is no proof of anything about god. Nothing to even point someone in that direction. I am told over and over that the proof is in a book that is unproven and could well have been written to control a people out of control.

It was supposedly penned but any number of people who in time gained a relative fame and power by the claims they made. The stories that are told defy the natural order of things. The events spoken of occurred only in this time and without any proof.

These events do not occur in any other time. The Jews were persecuted for their religion and many other things. The people were not well controlled and suffered mightily at the hands of the Romans. The books brought order to a degree to some segments of the populous. The books were used to bring others into a fold that made these that preached this more powerful. Most came to a bad end.

Yet for a time their assertions gave them majesty within their groups. This was something these nobody's ever had. Now they were elite and the heads of a community.

That alone is enough to say that these men used these words to manipulate the masses of the time.

What they describe is not in the natural order and nature responds in order. It does not snow in eighty degree weather. It will snow when it is twenty degrees. Water freezes in a lake from the surface downward not from the bottom up. This is natural order. That is how things work.

What you say you believe defies all natural order and does not occur today except as a money grabbing spectacle on a televised prayer meeting. How is it that someone who is a thinking being can be deceived by such nonsense?

Not so much a test. More like you have to understand 2 things:

    Probabilities and Evolution.

Probabilities because you then understand why more prayers go 'unanswered' and why a few get 'answered'.

Evolution because if you truly understand Evolution, then you know that Evolution proves the bible to be fiction.

Now we know why you are theist
