Are most Christians cowards?

I was about to say, you'll find the majority of veterans and active duty folks identifying
themselves as Christian / Theists...

Not sure where the notion that Christians are cowards originates from.

 

How can anything bother a man who cares about nothing save making other people feel bad?

You are supposed to be defending something, and al you do is take pot shots. And, in your silly ass OP, you call this behavior cowardace.

Everyone else calls it hypocrisy. Standard fare for this sections atheists.

 

By their own admission you can answer the question:

There is no meaning to life without a god.
There is no love without a god.
There is no purpose without a god.
There are no morals or ethics without a god.

This has been repeated again again and again. I honestly believe its like a security blanket. The thought of of someone watching over you, judging your every thought and action, ensuring that "everything will be ok". The thought of the security blanket being removed is frightening. Cowards? No. Other issues? Certainly.

 

It comes from constantly running to the moderators and trying to have threads shut down that they don't like.

 

I don't care about making people feel one way or another. I do, however, value intellectual rigor. If having baseless beliefs challenged constitutes "making people feel bad" then so be it. Not my problem.

For me to be a hypocrite, I'd have to be running to the mods every five minutes because somebody posted something I didn't like -- like many of hte self-identified Christians in this section.

 

Well, some of them certainly behave like cowards on this board -- running to the mods every five minutes when they read something they don't like. Yet they will talk your ear off telling you how they are silenced at every turn and how their faith is under attack by people who don't like their message.

 

Exactly SMW. I wonder the same thing. For atheists, there is no god, no entity, just eternity....... sounds pretty blissful doesn't it? So why the angst and why the continued attacks on Christians?

If Christians could simply learn to mind their own business... they'd hear not a peep out of me.

 

And so per the OP, 'cowards' are those ppl who wont 'play with him,' or play the game of tit-for-tat, and who prefer avoiding vain discussion that leads to more strife and usually, name calling.

But I say that the ones who are the real cowards are those who hide behind their computers anonymously, camping out here day after day and year after year, spouting grandiose words so boldly, but in fact are the 'real' hypocrites (as they like to reverse-call theists), and shout it so obviously as in not attacking the actual religious threat in the world, radical Islamism, who if they did spout their attack verbiage in front of, would kill them! It's safe and easy to attack Christianity, as in just plain cheap shotting.

But the words that I would use in response to the Op in regards to Atheists, is that the ones I see on this forum come across to me as: anti-social, basement-dwelling, no-life, boors!

No, of course you get it wrong. The cowards aren't the ones who avoid the discussion. They are the ones who go crying to the mods to make the discussion go away. They are also the ones who go crying to the government when they see something they don't like on TV.

I can only speak for myself in this regard -- I am on record as being immensely critical of Islam.

That would not apply to me. I am very social, have a great life, life on the 18th floor of my 22-story building, and am by no means boorish.

Gays are not trying to make you gay. Minorities are not trying to make you a minority. Christians are trying to make me Christian. And if I don't do so voluntarily, they seek to pass laws that impose Christianity on me and my fellow citizens. That is what I mean by "mind their own business." Just leave me alone and I will extend the same courtesy. But when you cross that line -- that line of presumption that says it's OK for you to insist that I live my life according to your faith -- you are going to hear about if from me.

 

Wrong. You can say whatever the hell you want. Shout it from the rooftops. But when you presume to insist that I live my life according to your faith? My advice in that case is that you can go violate yourself with a broken beer bottle.

But I fully support your right to free speech. I wish Christians would return the favor.

What YOU need to do if you dont like Christians telling you about the Kingdom of God, is to go to the roof of your 22 story Bldg, stand in the middle, put your fist up in the air and shake it at the sky, and complain to Jesus Christ for telling His followers to go out and spread the Good News ....it may be cathartic in your case. Anybody else would feel like a fool.

I have no problem at all with Christian preaching their beliefs....It is when they decide that anyone who isn'ty christian, and people who do not want to live that way don't deserve any rights, such as homosexials, and muslims...that is when I begin to hate them...

I don't care how Christians behave up until the precise instant they insist on legislating themselves into my private life. So, I say again, if Christians could simply learn to mind their own god (*)(*)(*)(*) business, they'd hear not a word out of me. You can include Muslims, Jews, Rastas, Pagans, Zoroasterians, and even atheists in that category, BTW, Not to put too fine a point on it, of course.
