Are most Christians cowards?

I've been away for a while and haven't read the rules since my return, but the rules of the forum are against flamebait threads.
It doesn't matter if the arguments coming out of the thread turn out to be good. I've seen many a good discussion destroyed by fair application of the rules.

I think the question to ask is whether the only way to spark these kinds of discussions is through purposely offensive titles.

 

So anyway, back on topic...

The question is whether most Christians are cowards or not. What is your answer?

 

You started this thread out with 'demanding' that somebody play with you!

And then when some folks reluctantly give you some feedback, you just dismiss them as per above, and wonder why nobody wants to play with your negative a$$...it's cause you're no fun. So enjoy the sandbox by yourself---I try to stay away from crybaby spoiled brats in the sandbox, and look for more profitable discussion. I do try to 'minister' to ppl, in between the 'beatings,' of course.....need to soften them up so that they can 'receive'....... Some ppl require a baseball bat...<ahem>

OK, if they're not cowards, why are they typically so insistent on hiding from public view things they find offensive? Or in this case, in running to the mods every 5 minutes when their feelings get hurt.

I think that I've reported just 1 poster in the 3 yrs I've been on this site.

And that was in the religion section, which was being Mod'd back then primarily by atheist Mods and 1 weak "I wanna be liked" Christian Mod, where they were letting this one poster get away with a total lack of civilized decorum.

It's been relatively cleaned up since then, by Christians holding the boorish behaviors in the Mod's faces. This forum often degrades from earnest discussion into just a shooting gallery.

The best way to take care of a 'flame bait' thread is to ignore it. But some 'warriors on here cant do that...esp when there are an abundance of them at 1 time..I'm only good for a couple posts/volleys, and then write it off and move on.. I'm writing this post right now just to explain without administering another 'beating.' Sometimes we (me included) hard-headed men need to be verbally smacked around to get our attention and put us back on a civilized course..

Unless you are one of the Christians who reported the thread I referenced in the OP then no, I am not talking about you.

That said, in my experience when an individual or a group of individuals go on a "crusade" against obscenity/indecency, or other forms of expression of which they disapprove, they are almost always self-identified Christians. Why is that I wonder?

Let's talk about what is the meaning of 'coward.'

Was Jesus Christ a coward for not fighting with his captors but accepting his destiny? He was said to be of tall stature, around 33 YO at the time of his death, a carpenter's son who grew up with manual labor (no power tools back then) and walked everywhere He went. Endured 2 days of beating and still carried a cross-member up a hill to his final 3 hr torture. And, he was no lily white, skinny thing that you see on most crucifixes!

Was the Apostle Paul a coward because he 'reasoned' with the Greeks in the Agora back then --not argued with them?

Were the Apostles, disciples and church martyrs cowards for accepting their destinies as being 'conformed to His image" by not fighting their captors?

Is one who like Christ walked away from arguments rather than participate in them a coward? Not yielding strife for strife. As Paul said, "if they do not receive you (or the words given you), shake the dust off of your feet and move on." (my para)

BTW, do you understand the significance of this scripture in regards to obedience, "Greater love has no man than to lay down his life for a friend"..? Real heroes esp. during war time do...where do you fall on the 'Hero Scale?"

The question has been answered, in that your entire premise is faulty, its a generalization, bigoted, and silly. In the short, my answer to your question, is not just "no", but that the question is stupid, unaswerable in its generalized form, and born of double standards.

Why do some ppl trust in their physically decaying & dying mortal body as the reference for what is 'eternity?!' Why do ppl, who are no more than ants in this large universe of universes, esteem themselves to be the mental giants in determining how they got here, what they are doing here, and have the vanity to declare their final destiny---aka, just stinking in the grave, which absolves them of all responsibility for denying the eternal words of 'their Savior,' who paid the price for their choice of vain folly in those regards.
