It is a from of 'pride' in one's self, and falls into the warning that has survived the ages in many proverbs across humanity, with the NT scripture version being "Pride goes before a downfall."

And so, for the many atheists who trumpet that 'character flaw,' enjoy your limited time while you can..it will catch up with you at some point in your lives...and I mean while living your 'mortal' lives; I dont want to confuse you with eternal judgement of the like in making my point.

To the one who excels at back-patting smugness, when I peruse the Religion section I eventually have to come across the plethora of Atheist whines and accusations. And since I dont use the "ignore" list, as I dont fear anyone on this site, altho it would reduce my having to be tempted in playing like tit-for-tat folly...but, No 'cowardice' here on my part.

Whether or not 'having an invisible friend" is "enough", would be a matter for the individual holding the belief to determine. Maybe rstones199 is satisfied with having such a friend. Who knows? Ask him.

I have yet to see either side of the arena put forth any empirical evidence... just words and more words and more words formed either as their own opinion or have borrowed the opinions of others ..... as if any of us are required to bow to the Opinions of others.

But wait a minute... the pseudoscientists on this forum are required to adhere to the opinions of REAL scientists and the opinions of those REAL scientists if the pseudoscientists (wannabe scientists) are to uphold the religious ceremonies conducted by the pastors (scientists in the temple of science [laboratories]).

I could care less what you think of my opinion. It is informed by my experience and my observations. Yours differs, I understand that. Big deal. But you're right, there is no evidence. So what should we call belief without evidence? Well, I guess we call that faith don't we? I call it silly as I said upthread. YMMV.
