BBC Removes Russell Brand Content, Saying It “Now Falls Below Public Expectations”

I hate to say they might be something in what you're saying. I distinctly remember when Musk turned to the Right, sexual molestation accusations followed soon thereafter etc.

 

This is a political forum and I think it is an equally interesting factor (and one worth scrutiny) that the timing of these accusations and the media spotlight on them coincides with recent outspoken comments by Brand. It doesn't diminish the rape charges.

Brand has not declared himself "Republican." He's not even American so that doesn't even track. In fact he's fairly left wing so you should like him on 90% of the issues.

 

He's a left wing populist, sort of like Bernie Sanders before Bernie allowed himself to be bought. But he has issues with both the Ukraine war and massive subsidies to pharmaceutical companies, so that's why years old sexual encounters were dug up.

He was never a left-wing darling. He was seen more as an alcoholic drug addict who liked to shock people with tales of his sexual exploits. He became popular with teenagers as a presenter of a Big Brother discussion programme

 

Yes, but he was a left-wing figure head post 2013. He moved into politics (pro-environment/anti-corporation) and helped to rope in disenfranchised young voters for Labour (the left party in Britain), much of it through his youtube channel.

 

They were fact checking the claims to avoid being sued. Plenty of people without rightwing following have had allegations. Maybe he knew it was coming and saw how righties will turn anything into a conspiracy
