This is the kind of headline that gets clicked. It exploits the heightened anxiety people are feeling and paints a false picture. This kind of news sells.

If the headline said "Murder, car accidents lowest in years" few would click.

Statistics today only matter for today. Over a year is what matters.

Why is that important? I'll answer for you. It's not important unless you're purposely trying to cause panic.

I'll ask you the same question I asked him. When is the last time the seasonal flu was the leading cause of death for even one day? Was it last year? Which date?

It's important because you claim the stat is meaningless. That means it must happen all the time, otherwise, it would be meaningful. So, when was it?

When was the last time someone with a heart attack and the flu was counted as a flu death?

The Gun Grabbing, Constitution Twisting, Fear mongers on the Radical Left want you to believe the world has come to an end.
Through chaos and destruction of small business etc, they hope to upend the USA such that it will be vulnerable to foreign interests (specifically China).

So far in the USA, there have been Less than 3,000 deaths that are FULLY attributed to the COVID-19 virus.
The rest is smoke and mirrors and outright lies.

Is COVID-19 a serious illness? Yes.
But so was SARS, Ebola and MERS. Yet the left didn't proclaim the end of the world for any of those. Most likely because a threat to their Globalization wasn't in power.

You do know that the annual deaths for flu are an estimate? These numbers people are throwing out are not actuals; they are guessing.

    https://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/burden/how-cdc-estimates.htm
Seasonal influenza may lead to death from other causes, such as pneumonia, congestive heart failure, or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. It has been recognized for many years that influenza is underreported on death certificates. There may be several reasons for underreporting, including that patients aren’t always tested for seasonal influenza virus infection, particularly older adults who are at greatest risk of seasonal influenza complications and death. Even if a patient is tested for influenza, influenza virus infection may not be identified because the influenza virus is only detectable for a limited number of days after infection and many people don’t seek medical care in this interval. Additionally, some deaths – particularly among those 65 years and older – are associated with secondary complications of influenza (including bacterial pneumonias). For these and other reasons, modeling strategies are commonly used to estimate flu-associated deaths. Only counting deaths where influenza was recorded on a death certificate would be a gross underestimation of influenza’s true impact.

Same with this.... People testing positive is a fact.

Covid-19 deaths is a guess as they are counting people that show signs of but not tested positive for.. So again if you had a heart attack and some symptoms of Covid-19 and died you now died of Covid 19 WITHOUT a positive test.

While all counting are estimated and projections further estimated, there are margins of error and confidence intervals used to stay within an acceptable range to still be accurate enough. Errors are controlled for as are testing limitations.

I'm not claiming expertise. I'm trusting the experts from all over the world who are united in their message/findings/etc.

You need a medical degree to read news reports or understand stats?

Damn your smear attempt failed.. Pretty sad you got a "like" for that..

You do need a good background to understand stats and medical claims.

    No.. you really dont.

Anyone can read a CDC link.

Or understand "experts" were claiming we had to worry about the Flu no Covid-19 as late as early Feb..

Same experts compared it to the Flu at the time and people like Trump got roasted for it..
