I do not know how to implement it, but it is the only way to reduce impact.
E.g. mandatory isolation for everyone who is older then 55.
Reduce Medicare age to 50.
Allow more doctors to be licensed.
Allow drug and medical equipment importation.
Lot of things can be done.

 

I don't know if you are aware, but every hotspot is already under stay at home orders, including plenty of areas (including mine) that are not. We are all effectively under martial law right now, we're just not calling it that.

There is no real economic hardship, or at least there won't be once all the Corona checks arrive. It will be at the most a matter of economic inconvenience, also called "dislocation" Lots of people will probably come out ahead.

And once this is all over nobody, in government or out, will notice where and when the several trillions this is "costing" will come from. Some few candidates running for office might be so crass as to mention it, but their quick and decisive defeat will ensure it never happens again.

After all, not very many people, if anyone, wondered how a group of countries which had begun fighting the largest conflict in history right on top of the longest and worst economic depression of all time paid for WWII after it was done either.
