If your dr told you to push your child off a cliff, I'd guess you'd do it? Where did anyone's common sense go. Doctors are not the be all end all on life altering decisions. These decisions should be up to a mature adult for themselves and not by anyone else.

If they did, that doesn't mean the doctors should go through with the surgery. Both the parents and the doctors should be held responsible. If I bring my child in and say to cut off his hand, that doesn't mean they should do it. It's sick any way you look at it.

How does a families personal decision hurt you? Isn't liberty about not infringing on another's right to be wrong. Their rights end when it interferes with yours, how is this interfering with your rights in anyway?
In this instance they didn't follow doctors order, what makes you think they would follow the states orders?

Permanently altering surgery to a minor shouldn't be a "families personal decision". It shouldn't exist. Once that girl is an adult, she can then make her decisions.
