Look at that. We actually agree on something....

That line graph doesn't even make sense. You can't draw a correlation out of a graph that has an X axis that is basically meaningless.

I do not blame you. You demonstrate many of the classic signs ...denial, demonizing people who have ideas that conflict with your beliefs so it is more of a concern.

I was able to extricate myself from the clutches of the irrational and can help you if you wish.

That's ironic. I've heard it said people in the present lack the proper viewpoint to view history in its many contexts accurately.

How do you suppose the ancients could see the whole earth... or was it just eretz.. the land that they were familiar with?

I didn't mean it like that. Just saying that our view of the ancients might be a little off.

But I have wondered about just how much of the world was known to the ancients. It is possible that they might not have been aware of certain specifics, but that they were aware of the size or dimensions of the world at least. It's been shown that ancient people have made some pretty accurate accounts of astronomical data we seem to believe should not have been possible for them. It's only this that makes me wonder.

Is it? I have friends from several denominations although I am agnostic now. Who is right? Each has their own interpretation of parts of scripture. Who knows who is right?

Someone posted earlier about speaking in tongues and 2 people disagreeing about what was said.
In one church I attended regularly ( a Baptist Church) years ago someone spoke in tongues in the prayer time. There was no interpretation given. At the end of the service a complete 'African' stranger, visiting for the first time told the congregation that the message was to her - in her own native tongue!! We never saw her again. Why make it up? She was a one-time visitor.

No-one knows really what can happen. Can a person really know what another has dreamed without actually meeting them. And 3 times in a row. Premonitions? Can you step off a public transport vehicle and feel so sick you want to vomit because 'you know' that a pilot cadet is going to crash his plane that night and yet no-one will believe you. And it happens. Can you instinctively know that something someone says they are going to do will be disastrous. Yet they go ahead, ignoring you, and come to grief.

I know there are people who have these experiences like me. They are nothing special.

Nature is such that many have gifts that others do not, but they perhaps have a different gift.

For those who read this post. Pull it apart if you wish. It doesn't alter one iota what has happened. It doesn't make me believe in a god. It simply makes me believe that 'there are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your Philosophy'.

    Have fun with it.
