Well, why am I not surprised that on a book that's designed for humans living on earth with no concept of the universe as we have it now, no alien life forms are mentioned. . I would be extremely surprised if polar-bears were explicitly mentioned, or television, aeroplanes, computers and microwaves. Yet all of this exists. So unless you can give me at least one verse where the Bible explicitly states that the earth is the only planet God ever created and filled with life, I shall regard your stringent view on this topic as highly unbiblical.
But the heavens and all of creation are mentioned in the Bible. You don't believe what the Bible says already, why should you believe it if I had a verse for you? Regard it as you like. Quantrill
I have read it .. many times. Where does the Bible claim or infer that there is no other life ? You have not given any Biblical backing for your claim. I could just as easily claim that God tells Christians to kill all the Jews if I do not have to provide proof. Where is the evidence for your claim ?
Fascinating many thanks for your comments. With respect. The bible is not the word of God. It does not declare anythiing like what is true. In fact it is a collection of confusing stories. Every concept you have just written to me about God is merely your imagination - of course youll now think that even that is still 'God' doing his mighty works etc etc. The word of God doesnt actually exist because in fact we are God. Although this is my conviction, Im telling you this mainly to see the reaction. I expect you to dismiss these comments immediately, as it must naturally be. In the end however I am satisfied that you deep down know the truth. Depending on the bible is something you merely happen to need to think in your life at the moment. Indeed I suspect your attachment is a badge of pride to you. I expect you to dismiss this comment even quicker as absolute rubbish that couldnt be further from the truth.
The fact that I don't mistake Psalm 104 for a chapter from a science book on what the earth looks like doesn't mean I don't believe in what it tries to tell us, my dear Christian brother. Actually it's one of my favourite pieces of biblical poetry. You not coming up with a verse just tells me that you're chickening out, because face it: there is none! So I conclude that even from a literalist's point of view your firm opinion on the existence of extraterrestial life is but that: an opinion. that finds no backing in the bible.
Read the first 5 chapters of Genesis and the last 5 of Revelation. You have the program for the heavens and earth given and finished. No extra terrestrial beings other than angels and demons are in place. No you could not, because in the Bible teaching is given concerning those who come against the Jews. Curse to those who come against and blessing to those who support. Quantrill
Your welcome. And, I don't expect one who is not a Christian to view the Bible as the Word of God. And I cannot convince you that it is. It declares to be so. It declares Jesus Christ as the Lord and Saviour of the world. And I believe it. Quantrill
Many thanks. Its nice to see someone with credible convictions here. I do find you interesting, so I have a few questions; 1/ What makes you believe it to be so? 2/ Are you commanded by this work to evangelise towards us? Is this therefore what makes you make such statements re the bible towards us? 3/ Do you think we are ignorant of something or that we are simply on a different path? 4/ What does one do when one gets to heaven? 5/ What was the point of our existance?
From my point of view, I would say, I just believe it. I could never quit being a believer. I could tell someone I don't, but I would be lying. Studying the Scriptures and from Gods point of view, I believe because He has opened my eyes to the truth of His existance and that Christ is the Son of God. Christians are commanded to spread the Gospel of Grace about Jesus Christ. A forum can be a tool in that regard. Those who don't believe just don't believe. They don't want God in their lives. And God has not opened their eyes to believe. We are certainly on different paths. The point of our existance is that God is creating a family of His. These will be real children and sons of God in that they are born of His Spirit, not just created beings, but born ones. And these sons of God are trained of God in their lives on this earth in preparation for what is to come in eternity. So that the children of God become mature, sons of God. Knowing the mind of the Father. Quantrill
Fascinating. Its curious to have a beleif system that seems to require little thought beyond whether one has decided to believe or not. You are really adamant that really there is nothing you can think of that makes this belief credible to you that you could relate to anyone? Yes, I thought as much. Its a pity you cant seem to explain to us why its such powerful stuff. Perhaps it doesnt have to be if you already beleive it. Isnt this evangelism better done by explaining reasons why one may wish to beleive in this system? Fair enough. Personally I do want God in my life and I believe he/she/we/ it already is and always has been. Thats whether or not Im a christian, as to think God requires or desires such a system of belief is itself to mock God and the universe - which is fine, the universe couldnt be less concerned. Thats interesting, this kind of view is rare in scotland, and so nice for these sons of god. Do they go through any particular tests or suffering for this? How many lifetimes does this training take? Just one? What happens to children or the young that die early? What happens to people of other faiths who could not possible know God in this way? Lastly, knowing the mind of the father as such, what are they going to do with all this?
I have read them many times. Either provide the passages, chapter and verse like others do to support their claims, or stop making these silly claims.
Who are any of you to say what "god" did or didn't create? The universe is infinity vast, with an infinite number of everything, therefor, there has to have everything, everywhere
You enter the Christian life by faith alone. There is much to think, reason, and learn about after that. More than this life will provide. My faith is real and based on the reality of God and Christ. Whether it is credible to you or others is immaterial to me. The power of God is in the Gospel. It is God who uses the message to accomplish the results. The Christians life is a lifetime of learning through various means, suffering being one of them. We only go around once here. God knows all who are ever born. He knows who they are, not just what they do. And, thus if an infant dies, then its eternal destiny will be based upon that knowledge of God. There is only one way to be saved, that is belief that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and Saviour. All others will be separtated from God in the lake of fire forever. No exceptions. As Christians grow in maturity they simply walk in that maturity knowing the mind of God when making decisions that they are confronted with. Quantrill
Sorry, just because your example of 'killing Jews' failed, doesn't mean my giving you the first and last 5 chapters of the Bible to read does. You 'claim' you have read it many times. Ok. Thus you know there is no extraterristrial beings existant in the begining and in the consumation. So, as I said before, there are no extra terristrial beings other than those mentioned such as angels or demons. Quantrill
Great stuff. Pertinent reasoned reponses. I always enjoy the answers from a reasoned person of belief in christianity. I see you confirm that this life is not enough to provide all required knowledge. Fair enough. Do you find it yourself to be powerful? If so, what makes it so in your opinion? For example, does it make sense? Was this baby to be saved thus born with the required knowledge? What happens to those babies that die who are not so blessed with such knowledge? Or is it that all babies that die early are of course so blessed? Fair enough. Is this lake a punishment or a lesson? Ah they make decisions knowing the mind of God. Thus very wise decisions. 1/ Yet what are these decisions for? To what end? Is that even relevant? 2/ After this life, in eternity, is it actually other earths that we use this new God knowledge for? Or is it heaven ie clouds and such? 3/ Do you expect to meet your wife friends and family in eternity or only those that qualify? Will you be sorry if any of these close people end up in the lake?
The knowledge I am speaking of is the knowledge of God. God has given all that He requires for me to know at any given time. The Gospel is powerful because God is the One behind it. I can recognize the power in it in both in the individual who believes and in the antagonism of those who don't. Concerning the infant, it is not a matter of knowledge. Its a matter of who they are. And God knows. The lake of fire is eternal punishment. Yes it is relevant. The child of God seeks to be in the will of God no matter how small the decision. There is only one earth. It will be completely destroyed by fire and God will make a new heavens and new earth. Earth, as it was prior to Lucifers fall, will be just as much part of Heaven as the Christian is. All those who are saved will be there. If any who I am close to are not saved, then I will not be sorrowful as I will no longer have this sinful body and my knowledge of God and His will, will be such that any former ties with those who are never saved will be completely understood, and will not affect my emotions in Heaven. Quantrill
How would creationist explain aliens? God planted intelegent extraterrestial life to test our resolve and faith.
However, when people don't accept your message - you are told to make a hasty exit away from them. Not harangue them, which a lot of Christians tend to do.
Interesting because I read this passage in the Bible and it sounds like Demons (Lucifer's army of fallen angels), interbred with man. Who were these giants? Could they have been demons disguised as aliens? It could be possible.
The Nephlem were born after Lucifer had fallen. The angels who were known as the "Sons of God" were called the watchers. They were led by an Angel named Sammael and were completely seperate from Lucifer's angels. They were assigned to watching over humanity, fell in love with the daughters of mankind, and came down to be with them. They also taught humanity magic. it's all in the Book of Enoch, which was left out of the bible because it contridicted the idea that no one can get into heaven except through God and Jesus. Sammael brought Enoch into heaven, without God's permission, to intercede with God on the Watchers' behalf.
