The director of the FBI seems to think otherwise... My guess is he doesn't consider the Comer/Grassley Comedy Hour as legit oversight, much like the rest of America....

Enjoy your nothing burger... I recommend some nothing fries on the side...

Wow... aren't you the side that disses unnamed sources? Plenty of that in this article...

The primary takeaway from that article is that Grassley is now on record that he'll make that document public if he gains control over it...

I agree Trump set the worst example, but there is no need to follow that example. Wray most certainly should appear, his testimony can be anything, or even silence.

I don't believe Wray has been subpoenaed to testify, just to produce documents centered around a single document that he doesn't want to turn over to strictly political actors (and I do mean actors).

Gotta believe he has his reasons for that... probably National Security risks by dealing with those unequipped to handle secure issues...

Yes there are some security issues, Wray stated that, but I still don't like any top federal employee disregarding a subpoena.

I don't either, but I was mostly just pointing out it wasn't to testify....

I'd prefer a more public and solid reasoning from Wray as to why he doesn't want to turn this document over to the Leak Bros....

    Oh........

    Have you found your answer?

The FBI is preparing to bring the subpoenaed document alleging Joe Biden was involved in a criminal bribery scheme to Capitol Hill Monday for lawmakers to review, after House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer threatened to hold the bureau in contempt of Congress.

The document in question is an FBI-generated FD-1023 form that allegedly describes a $5 million criminal scheme involving then-Vice President Joe Biden and a foreign national relating to the exchange of money for policy decisions.

It's an unclassified public document. Why can't it be released? You realize these documents are subject to FOIA requests, right?

We'll see what Wray does come Monday. Will it be redacted?

I think it's likely he will redact the source. That would be redacted in a FOIA request. But, it sounds like a whistleblower already named them. And, the Oversight Committee has authority to have that information. I think Wray will end up being held in contempt regardless for failing to meet the deadline(s) and not fulfilling the full requirements of the subpoena. For example, he may redact information, he may not let them retain a copy for release, and/or he may not be forthcoming with the extent to which they have investigated it... likely because they most likely sat on it until Republicans learned about it. These are guesses, but we will see. Wray is sending agents and apparently not attending himself which means they will likely have orders as to how much they are allowed to share and gives Wray some separation.

Well then, that might be the fastest way for Comer to get his very own redacted copy, instead of wasting FBI time..

Why would it be handled as classified information? Comer didn’t agree to Wray’s deal.

Well, Raskin has agreed to be there, so it won't be a completely wasted trip....

Actually, the best thing about the trip is it will make any future contempt of Congress charge disposable... I guess that's worth a couple of hours...

Will you considered caring if Comer can show the document does in fact implicate Biden in a foreign aid scheme to enrich his family?

    Before Biden was president?
So trump Barr, and Wray have had this for years.
And saw nothing to move forward on?
    But then it changed?
    Seems like a nothingburger.

If these stories about Biden family corruption have no validity, why do the FBI and DOJ sit on them for years? Does it really take four years to analyze Hunter Biden’s laptop? Does it take two years to see if Biden took a $5 million bribe in exchange for a policy decision? I’ve heard it said that the FBI might be holding to these stories until the statute of limitations runs out. If that’s the case, then there is a darn good case for cleaning house at the FBI.

If the resolution of these cases clears the Biden family from wrongdoing, why not get the facts into the open and clear the cloud that hangs above them? The way the FBI and DOJ are acting now, it provides a prima facie impression that the Biden family is guilt of wrong doing, and if true, Biden should be removed from office.

Perhaps if high public officials are guilty of wrong doing, YOU should be interested.

I heard the same remarks about far left politicians at the beginning of the Watergate investigation.
