The Ukrainian governmenmt has not outlawed all oppositional parties, they banned eleven pro-Russian parties.
There are currently seven parties in the Ukrainian parliament and more than sixty political parties all together. The ones now banned have close ties with Moscow and only two of them won a few seats in the last election, the others are splinter parties who do not even have one seat in parliamant. The claim "outlawed all oppositional parties" is highly incorrect.

 

He outlawed the largest opposition party and any media that might have reason to not kiss his ass. He did not just ban 1 or 2 rogue parties.

You didn't have to live in Europe in WW2 to have read about the things the people who did, had to give up.

You live in a world which has never known bombs dropping onto your house, everything you have is destroyed, investments, insurances etc become meaningless. That if you lose the war you have literally no chance of getting them back and in fact you may well be executed.
The pictures you see on TV about Syria, Ukraine etc are NOT some war movie. Places stink, people stink, bodies lie in the street, often body parts, there are few if any toilets, and no privacy, beds are on the floor if you can find space, children are screaming and everyone is terrified that the roof will be blown offn and the place destroyed.
