Neither did all the political parties with Russian ties that were banned. However, there are about 6 major parties in Ukraine and they vie for votes just like any democracy. We have two major parties that are pretty much the same with a plethora of a whole bunch of minor parties that most elected voters ignore altogether.

Ukraine is a democracy and banning the parties that are tied to Russia is a prudent move given that Russia invaded Ukraine for no apparant reason.

 

We didn’t murder them. We just made sure no spies were helping the Japanese. I’m not sure I do disagree with it. They were known to have spies here that was giving info on targets. If they wouldn’t have done anything it could have been worse.

 

I'm sorry, but where on earth are you getting your information that there was a ban on "all" opposition parties? That's not even close to accurate, they haven't banned all opposition parties, they've only suspended the political parties that are loyal to Russia.

FYI, during the American revolution, not only did the Articles of Confederation prohibit any loyalists from holding any seats in the US, but the government was permitted to seize the property of any known loyalists.

 

I think you are getting confused between Putin and Zelensky. Putin issued a degree stating that if anyone says or does anything to go against Russia, they will be fined, imprisoned or deported if they are foreign media. Zelensky combined all Ukrainian news media into one to combate the Russian misinformation being projected onto Social Media outlets and others. That's a huge difference.

Finally, it's quite easy to tell which media is pro Russian and which media is not just as easy to tell which media is conservative and which media is Liberal.

If it remains in place after the war is over and Ukraine is still Ukraine, you might have something.

Actually, the suspension was on all parties with a pledged loyalty to Russia.. as in their own self described party platform is to be one country with the Russian Federation. It was 11 parties overall, out of which only 3 hold seats, and combined they make up around 50 seats out of the 450 seats in the Ukrainian parliament
