    A great gesture. Hamas has a reputation for social programs. It's why Hamas won the Palestinian elections.

    Ramadan;
    It pays to understand one's enemy- that they may be one's friend.

    Associated;

    Most of the guff written in the Western media about Hamas is.......guff. The rest is propaganda.

    Looks like election season is here.

    Hamas sees the charity work as an opportunity to strengthen support and expand its network.

    I'm no fan of Hamas, but at least someone is helping the people in Gaza who find themselves in a desperate situation.

    In Egypt ( the same usuallly in all Muslim communities around the world I think)

    All mosques hand out parcels of meat to the poor at Eid which is just after Ramadan.

    Every family buys a sheep or goat or buffalo and takes one third, gives one third to family and gives last third to the poor.

    Every family except very poor buys a 'Ramadan box' filled with basic foods like oil, sugar, pasta, rice, tea, semna, lentils from supermarkets and gives it to a poor family or buys many and gives to many poor families.

    During Ramadan all mosques serve an iftar to all who enter the door be they Muslim or not. At sunset all who enter the mosque will receive a meal.

    On major highways Muslims will hand out bottles of water and small packets of dates to all drivers at sunset. These are paid for by companies, shops, mosques etc.

    Hypermarkets beside me at sunset every day have an iftar tent where anyone no matter religion can receive a tray of hot food and a drink.

    In my compound the residents have all given money to the mosque to provide tables and chairs and hot food for every night at sunset to feed workers, security, shopkeepers and bawab families. They all sit down at the tables laid out and eat their meal at sunset after prayers.

    Hotels here have iftar meals where foreigners who are not Muslims can eat and celebrate with us.

    Our Christian friends come to our houses and eat at Iftar and celebrate with us.

    I saw Salam Fayaad today being interviewed on TV. Said he was stepping aside now.
    This is what Hamas demanded to reunite with Fatah
    Good sign.

    We can now be assured that the zionists will launch an assault on Gaza now that the people are fasting and weakened after hearing Fayaad today.

    Wait and see.

    It helps Palestinians deal with sixty years of occupation, theft, murder, apartheid and ethnic cleansing.

    Thanks for that, Abu . These terrible ' culture wars ' are a product of the arms industries , colonialism and Zionism. Ordinary people are just people getting along.

    They will try to incite violence, that's a given.

    Ordinary are the majority:sun:

    For sure they will escalate now that Fayaad has said that. The zionists don't want them uniting.
    Divide and rule, and divide and conquer, and divide and blame everyone else, is what dictators and tyrants and oppressors and devils thrive on.

    Im lying? Thats Hamas TV champ. Would you like some youtube videos?

    This is what kids watch in Gaza. This is tame compared to what they show older folks.

    What chance do they have if terrorist run their lives and teach them this trash? Perhaps someday Palestinians will have the ambition to free themselves from the eternal "resistance" and set their own course for the future. What a burden it must be.

    "The zionist regime will be gone from our region in less than 10 years and forever be in the pages of history as the biggest mistake that the British ever made in recent times . It will be wiped clean from our region."

    You can take that as an accurate translation from the Arabic from me Abu Sina.

    That's what invasion tends to do. Zionists invaded Palestine, you are reminded.

    That would certainly differ from the Zionists' rocketing of schools, hospitals, ambulances, police stations, fire stations, elderly cripples in wheelchairs and women under white flags. They killed 400 Palestinian children over christmas 2008/9, along with a thousand other people on just one operation. That's 400 children who will be avenged, one way or another. And an elderly cripple in a wheelchair.

    Since Hamas, who started the 'Christmas 2008/9' affair,with their constant rocketing of Israel and invasive tunneling, use 'schools, hospitals, ambulances, police stations, fire stations, elderly cripples in wheelchairs and women under white flags' as cover its hardly surprising these things end up the way they do.

    Of course Hamas feeds these people. They need a fresh crop of suicide bombers every year.

    It's like a farmer who feeds his cattle for slaughter.
