Here is the problem with China on CV19

not sure why Trump played down the virus early on and let it get out of control, some say Trump wanted the virus to spread and the reason Trump shutdown the economy is that he knew the economy was failing, and the only way for him to inject trillions into the mega corps was to use the virus crisis to do so, if that did not work, he would blame it on the virus, win\win either way as far as Trump was concerned

I'm glad Biden isn't leaving the response time some sort of open ended dream. Instead, he's specifying a limit. No action in that time means it will be an issue.

WHO has carried out significant investigative work in China. The fact that China hasn't allowed full access to scientists at Wuhan is obviously not acceptable, but suggesting that China has "not cooperated at all" just isn't the case.

The "germ warfare" conspiracy theory is just plain stupid.

One doesn't carry out germ warfare by releasing a deadly virus in ones own back yard. They would at least get the continent right!!

 

We have a track record of being successful in reducing the impact of serious viruses.

Deciding to ignore this one was a death sentence for large numbers of Americans and led to an economic catastrophe for the nation as well.

And, that ignores the impact of our feckless behavior on the rest of the world.

CDC, Dr. Fauci, WHO, the FDA - all promoted sound, science based direction.

I'd point out that our major medical engineering companies had vaccines within days of getting the genome from China. The rest of the time had to do with testing and production requirements.

And, let's remember that the variants of COVID19 in the USA came to the USA through EUROPE. And, the much touted "travel resrictions" were WAY too late and were implemented in a sloppy and totally ineffectual manner.

We had Trump lobbying hard AGAINST what science was saying, and getting IN THE WAY of desperately needed hospital supplies.

What we learned then was that we needed a coordinated nation wide plan for defending against such disease.

That was put in place by Obama.

One of Trump's very first actions was to totally destroy that effort!!

 

A coordinated plan for 60 million people to get sick? That's how many got sick from H1N1. Lucky the death rate was not high from that virus.

 

Xoe will get to the bottom of this and will hold the Chinese fully and totally responsible, then he will play some real hardball.

Trump got us testing, vaccines, travel restrictions. He mobilized industry to make a surplus of ventilators. In the meantime your hero democrats oppressed Americans in the name of public health and forced sick people into nursing homes causing the deaths of thousands.

 

That's bullcrap. What would you suggest Trump do in 2019 before we had one documented case of Covid? Shut the whole country down? The first documented case was Jan 21st. When he took action by restricting Chinese travel on 1/31 you libos called it racist.

Biden's first comment on Covid came in an op ed 1/27/20 USA today when the strongest thing he said was this.

Regarding Sars1, 2003 anybody who thinks the Bush administration was competent at anything needs to do their homework. Ever hear of the Iraq war or hurricane Katrina?

I do not think Covid was that big a disaster. Of the 600,000 documented deaths only half died primarily from Covid. 80% of those deaths were very old and very sick people.

What hurt our country were the fascist shutdowns and the attempts by democrats to use the pandemic for political gain.

People did not need to be so scared of Covid and we had no reason to terrify kids and keep them out of school.

Sweden had about the same infection rate and death rates we did and they had no shut downs and kids stayed in school.

Maybe if the governors of New York and Michigan did not murder thousands of vulnerable people?

 

They couldn't rush the approval. Only government could do that.

 

I think they just screwed up letting virus out the lab. It is hard to believe they did that with a malice.
That is one of the side effect of total ad insane outsourcing to China.

 

I do not believe China is the benevolent country I gather you think it is. Not when for petty drug crimes it executes woman all the time. I do not actually claim it was done with malice.

But think about this. It is a China lab devoted to this sort of virus. And it supposedly keeps deadly diseases from escaping. Democrats screamed at Trump daily about the deaths. If They lied, it is on them. I am persuaded by one female scientist who let the cat out of the bag China did it on purpose.

 

Too little, too late for nearly a million Americans. Our CDC knew what to do and had drawn up plans to do it well before Trump was even President. Other countries did what we should have and have had negligible losses. Trump not only did nothing he dismantled the coping mechanisms we had ready and that was after he was told that something like this was inevitable. Probably more than a million Americans will be dead before this is over. Don't thank Trump. It is only your, (and our) good fortune that you are vaccinated and not dead. Trump certainly didn't care.
