Republican committee members were present and had full opportunity to ask questions just as Dems committee members did.

This "hiding" thing is just one more Republican lie - or, they're just unaware of fully standard process.

 

What Republicans are exposing is that they have no clue how hearings on defense issues are carried out.

I suspect most have no clue that Republican committee members had equal participation.

There was no quid pro pro...there was no denial, there was a delay. That Ukraine knew nothing about at the time to determine if Europe was funding any aid, and if their corruption issues were properly being addressed.

There absolutely are three committees involved in the questioning of the witness that this is a bout. And, the Republicans from all three committees were fully included as equals, obviously.

Although a closed hearing can have leaks, it can prevent future witnesses from know what other witnesses have testified to.

 

NO committee has exclusive rights to testimony from some sector of the executive branch. Committees are designed on subject matter lines, and each subject can require testimony from a number of executive branch areas as they deem necessary.


The committees involved in this care were Intelligence, Oversight and Foreign Affairs.

They all have the right to testimony from the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense.

Unlike with Republican hearings in the Nunes charade, congressmen of both parties on the various committees have access to documents that are retained or created by those committees.
