I don't know why it needs rationlizing, other than to those who believe He is God. As for me, it seems quite believable that a man in His position could look all around Him, see nothing of God's presence and, having done nothing wrong, wonder aloud why God had, to all appearances, abandoned Him.
Is every other man prone to believing he has forsaken himself?

The answer is no, because I have no idea how to go about believing such a thing. How about you?
Had that been the case, you'd never have heard of Him.
Actually He knew He was going to die, and that His suffering on this side of the grave would be nothing compared to His suffering on the other, and that He would be resurrected...

...but knowing the future is one thing; living it, quite another.
You're under the impression theists never mock atheists?

I have no idea why you have this imaginary political position for a religion in the first place because it is not about being a democrat or republican it is about whether one believes or doesn't believe..

It is interesting to compare such things, side by side, across the four gospels. It becomes more interesting when keeping in mind the dates that each gospel was written: Mark, Matthew, Luke, and John.

Mark was the earliest Gospel. It was written most nearly to the events.... and, for that reason, would logically likely be the most accurate version of events. In Mark, Jesus says the least. And what he does say: "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" Could logically be construed to indicate a person who is feeling devastated, disconsolate, and ultimately betrayed by God.

As the date of the gospels becomes later and later....the more and more detail is added to story of Jesus crucifixion. Jesus is portrayed as more god like, and Mark’s rendering of disconsolate, betrayed Jesus disappears from the narrative.

We are each free to find our own explanation for how and why the story shifted over time. IMO, the shift comes from the fact that later writers wanted to fine tune the story in order to have the story support an evolving Christological narrative of the emerging new religion.

And the idea of the trinity had not yet formed?

What's hard to understand about it.
All of the sin of every person who ever lived or would live was placed on Him and in that moment became everything God detests.
Because of our sin Jesus experienced separation from God for the first and only time.

    It's not complicated at all

I do not believe that I ever mentioned Democrats or Republicans (apparently, capitalization is not your strong suit) in the post to which you are alluding.

But it does seem to me that atheists believe that it is perfectly okay to mock theists--just not the other way around...

The Scriptures state that God is three persons. The Scriptures state that man cannot understand God with his mind. Man needs his spirit made alive by God and filled with the Holy Spirit who is the our teacher and reveals God to us. Trying to figure God out with an unrenewed mind is hopeless. The Word of God is Spirit. Seek God, Ask God, He will reveal Himself to you.

Well....it sounds a little complicated. Per your theory all sins past, present and future entered Jesus, for some reason. God would have to will it and then God became disgusted by Jesus. Jesus then said why do you forsake me as if ''what's going on?'', but he is God too but didn't seem to know the plan.

    Oh brother

There still isn't even a speck of credible or compelling evidence to suggest that your little god exists, 'grunt...

Didn't they come up with that inelegant theory around the third century?

No, that's a conclusion based on scriptural cherry picking.
They also state that God is not the author of confusion - which, perhaps not coincidentally, is the only product of every attempt I've ever seen to reconcile the Gospels with the proposition that Jesus is God.
Setting aside the question of whether there's anything Christian about such an effort...
...if you have a renewed mind, how is it that you have nothing better to offer than stale, doctrinaire bromides?
Such an admonition would be swell if I had any reason to think it was coming from a Godly person; things being what they are, not so much.

If Jesus did die for our sins then the original sin would have been eradicated and we would be immortal again.

You are immortal if you're in Christ. Your spirit never dies.

Yes, in our flesh. Have you ever read the Epistles of the Apostle Paul?

The last words of Christ were "It is finished, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit"
Satan is the father of lies, the inspiration for this lying thread.

Yes. But it does not answer the fact that if one is forgiven of their sins why there would be a need of judgement and punishment after death.

So you've never studied the Bible. Christians were judged on the cross. If you're not in Jesus Christ, you will be judged for your sins. I suggest you find a Spirit filled Bible teaching church.
