It's right there Steve.

That line is the Earths life. See the red space in the Middle? Thats Mankinds entire existence.....see that green dot inside that? Thats our temperature records.

Meaningless measurements when you put them in scale.

You actually think that changing our energy source is going to stop climate change? :roflol:

Tell me how you think you will force countries like China to comply?

Here is the reality of what government can do, so get used to it, because fossil fuels are not going anywhere any time soon

This is the typical defeatist argument. Global warming is a fact, so lets lay down and die right?

This is what Global warming is causing; http://wwf.panda.org/about_our_earth/aboutcc/problems/impacts/coral_reefs/

    http://www.nbcnews.com/nightly-news...eefs-and-their-underwater-beauty-508958275889

As to how these causes can be fixed by the government; we are the government, which means the government is just a liaison to solving these problems. The people have to rise up and demand people do something. The government is just the vehicle to get us there. That's all it is. The government is not the spokes person to save our oceans. We are.

Even the noble goal of telling the middle eastern terrorist countries to (*)(*)(*)(*) off is not acceptable to the right if it involves acknowledging global warming? Sigh...

We absolutely CAN get off fossil fuels and enjoy the independence and security that would bring. Overcoming the interests and money that the fossil fuel industry would spend to thwart such an effort would be the biggest obstacle, not the science.

How much good came from the space race in the form of technology? How much positive economic impact did the Eisenhower interstate system have? Can you even measure it? Massive domestic investment in ourselves is what we need to produce something good for everyone, and our planet. It's been done before, it can be done again.

Aren't you one of the ones that laughed when someone used cold temperatures for the same reasons? But now a hot temperature does mean global warming?

Lol, ok. Godzilla El Nino forming in the Pacific too.

Well, please tell us how you are going to force China and Russia to get on board? Your climate-ista comments are typical of the loon left attack machine

This is what government can do, and that's about all they can do:

Stop? Who said that? Drastically change? Absolutely. Also, what about getting off of middle eastern oil don't you like?

Why would we be worried about their compliance in developing new technology? If they want to continue to use an inefficient internal combustion engine, let em. This is just more defeatist nonsense. China won't listen so why bother? That's a cowardly argument that goes contrary to the American inventive spirit. We should do it because we CAN.

Do you have anything substantive to add to this discussion or are you here to spout right wing talking points?

We can begin by stopping the slashing of the EPA's budget and FEMA. We're definitely going to need to have FEMA be able to take care of the natural disasters to come.

We need to stop using coal as an energy source, and as has already been mentioned, create an energy race to find alternative energy sources.

And as also work with other nations at reducing carbon emissions.

We may not be able to stop it, but we will be able to lessen its impact, and we will need to be ready to move large populations in danger of rising sea levels.

You have no solution, and adaptation is the only sure thing we can do.

    - - - Updated - - -

So you think giving them more money is going to stop climate change? :roflol:

This is getting funny by the day from the loony left

And "adaptation" doesn't require planning and money?

I love getting off the islamo-nazi oil

, so why no drilling in Anwar? Where's the pipeline? You might tell Soros to quit buying coal stock, it looks really bad for his phony cause

BTW, I spout no more right wing points than you do left wing, so stop being a hypocite

july 2015 was warmest month ever recorded for the globe

    http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/sotc/global/201507

there are countries reducing their carbon emissions drastically, the usa can do it, too

"In 2010, the European Union set a goal of producing 20% of its total energy from renewable sources by 2020."

norway already surpassed its 2020 goal and sweden is close to it

    http://qz.com/359415/three-european-countries-have-already-hit-their-2020-renewable-energy-goals/

    at 4:40 in the video

"Hayhoe suggested fighting globally for practices and methods that reduce carbon emissions and then reducing one's own carbon footprint. She said it's easy and simple to start and gave one example.

"If every home in the entire United States replaced just one light bulb with a new LED, that would be like taking a million cars off the road," she said. "And we would each save $30 in electricity over the lifetime of the bulb, even taking into account the fact that the bulb costs more than a regular one."

There's a long list of other actions one can take. For instance, when it comes to commuting to work, people can mix it up by occasionally carpooling, sometimes taking public transport, biking, and tele-commuting.

In addition, people can buy things locally grown or made. They can eat less meat, recycle, insulate, compost, weatherize - the list goes on and on.

Even if Hayhoe and Farley turn out to be wrong about global warming, those who take such actions will at least help make Earth a healthier, cleaner planet."

No, it's the typical convenient Right-wing defeatist attitude that says rolls over and die. The Right only lives for the day, not tomorrow. It's why they are a declining breed. Spinning excuses about China and Russia gets us no where. Someone has to grab the torch for humanity. Thank goodness the torch from the Left has the courage and the interest to grab that torch and do something, while the other side would rather bask in their ignorance, complain about taxes, and generally act stupid about the whole thing.

Very broad goals but HOW? Stoping automatic budget raising is not "slashing" anything.

Great kill off the coal industry what takes over that energy for the meantime? The energy grid in this country is strained as it is. Lower carbon emissions? How? Again nothing even close to a solution just wishy washy talking points.

RWers never have an answer only insults. Even with the evidence in their faces they refuse to admit.

As for where and how is pretty basic, one step at a time, let alone that in some areas we have done it, car emissions and cleaner water. Reducing our ecological footprint will be better for business, in terms of energy use to begin with. Another area where we have started but still needs work is recycling.

The answers are all there, it is time RWers got off their duffs and started work on this.

The coal industry needs to be replaced. It's 200+ yr old technology. Don't you think we can do better?

A silver bullet solution does NOT exist. That's why American ingenuity, innovation, and determination are needed to find out what it is! Why not invest in ourselves, our future, and our security to find it?

Dodge and weave...nice rant about the right, BUT you didn't answer Billy's question. Lay out your plan to get a Russia and China on board. I haven't noticed that Obama has been successful. So what do YOU know that he doesn't? Come on, don't be shy...

Time to re-think nuclear. There's been a lot more technology improvements in that area and the public needs to be re-educated about it.

The Environmental movement has been taken over by the "degrowth" movement. It has NOTHING to do with the environment AT ALL, it's ALL about degrowth and killing capitalism.

I've got a challenge for you.

Go to the Arctic, get all the ice you can get, and go drop it in the ocean.

It's really too bad that a Republican didn't mention global warming and act like it exists to dupe Americans. Had they, none of you liberals would believe it and we could all move on to more important things.
