Do you understand that once 20 years pass the remaining debts have to be paid back to US Department of Education? Government has to print that money to cover that.

That's just perfect....especially the "let me be clear" part. Funny how all of that is clear to you and I, and it is clear to us what happens to the country because of it...the left either can't understand it, or they just simply do not care.

We will not survive another Obama presidency, not sure we can even survive another year...scary times.

An electrian must be licensed. I suggest you review what is needed to obtain an electrian's license. His accent is irrelevant.
    Ref: http://www.code-electrical.com/licenserequirements.html

In that link they have "exams", which I assure you will require some schooling.

Not really. Everything in every industry requires a license. You have a choice to take the schooling portion or not. Not because it's required because the Government said so.

Government tried to make me go to school to become a certified personal trainer. And in the end, they would have taught me nothing about personal fitness.

    1) This doesn't affect private student loans, which make up all student loans issued before last year.

    2) Obama is bypassing congress.

    3) Desperate plea to remain relevant to young voters who feel entitled to free stuff.

I don't know about your state system, but the Board of Regents in our system constructs buildings that they don't need in order to name the buildings after themselves. Our Board of Regents is not unlike the Mexican Army and the medals/ribbons/pay raise bit.

Obama should just turn all student loans into grants and no longer provide loans for education! The only government loan for education should be a veteran loan or grant the rest is socialism. IMO

This is a good move. It's become comically sad how college graduates are almost being significantly financially penalized for wanting a higher education and better paying job. Higher education leads to better jobs, which leads to better income, which leads to higher tax revenue for the federal government.

Tuition costs have been drastically rising over the past few decades. The can be attributed to less government subsidizing in educational institutions. It's pretty sad how the focus of taxpayer money has shifted over the years. Less on education and domestic issues and more on foreign wars and other bull(*)(*)(*)(*).

It's funny how it never occurs to anyone as to the reason why college is so expensive is because it's the industry government has the most involvement it.

I'm still trying to figure out why the idiot liberals aren't camped out, protesting these universities? Can one of you libs please tell me? I mean, if there's a bigger scam that exists in this country, I'd like to know about it. Let's see:

Requiring 120 credits for a Bachelors Degree. Only about 30 of those credits are ever actually relevant.

One credit at a university costs about $500.

Then there's the textbooks, that cost about $150 a piece. The professors say they are mandatory, even if they're never opened all semester.

So again, please tell me why there is no outrage at a university charging $60,000-$100,000 for a bachelors degree, that MAY lead to a $40,000 a year job.

Yeah, don't protest the Dean, who probably makes $400,000 a year. Or the professors that teach 1 class a semester.

No Mike, I'm not trying to be a smart ass. I seriously want an answer from these nitwit libs. I have a lot of student loan debt, and my wife has twice what i owe. I'm not complaining, cause we chose to go this route. And I don't want anyone paying my way. But I need to know why libs are ok with the price-gouging universities.

Are you making stuff up? Wealthy parents and the kid wouldn't qualify for fed student loan, maybe a prvt loan. Joe couldn't borrow 100K for school under the wealthy parent/won't go to work scenario.

Yeah. Uneducated. 8th grade exams in the 40s and 50s couldn't be passed by half of the college grads today. We went from actually teaching children to coddling them from kindergarten to their senior year. Everything we expect today's high schoolers to know, they used to know by middle school. High school had two objectives. Prepare those students who have the aptitude for college. Teach trade skills and apprenticeships for those either without the aptitude or desire to go to college.

Half the kids in college now are not academically fit for college. They are wasting money. Their non-college peers are already working and making decent salaries when the college kids graduate.

I'll take someone who is 26 with 8 years experience over some college grad who has no clue after 8 years of college.

They are already uneducated. Studies show graduates have no greater knowledge than when they started school.

But I guess your idea of education is propaganda.
