What a dumb statement. Show me that 'Study' please.

Why do you anti-higher education people think everyone who goes to college studies Liberal Arts? What about Math, Science, Engineering, physics? Ya good luck getting jobs in those fields with a high school education. Clueless..

No one could get a job in my field, or perform it with any kind of efficiency or accuracy without a college education.

And more importantly, why are university tuitions rising at much more than the rate of inflation?

Which will lead to manipulation.Kids with those loans will make good faith
efforts to pay the minimum and then fall terribly short when the note comes
due.Really stupid plan meant to schmooze impressionable kids in their
    formative years of liberal mind-numbing.

As they are the future taxpaying citizens. And we have to keep up with the joneses of other countries.
It has been known for decades that higher ed, leads to higher wage jobs. Higher wage jobs means more tax revenues. Wouldn't you invest in your future and growth?

Is this statement true all college grads?
Anyone here or your spouse or both graduate college. Did you not learn anything in college?
I went to college, a few years ago, but I learned quite a bit from college. Enough to get an engineering job.

College means absolutely nothing if not specialized like a degree
in Engineering or a Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineer.
Business degrees are pretty worthless.Liberal Arts is good for
basically being a liberal pain in the ass.

So does his plan cut any federal funding to universities that are charging extortion rate tuitions? Doubt it. The Federal loans forgiven after 20 years? So, it's really a gift to the public and private universities from taxpayers. Corporatism at its finest! Thanks Obama!

Clueless statement. If accounting jobs exist that don't require atleast a BA in accounting, I'd love to see it.

Hard to understand what you're more upset about, the existence of institutions of higher learning or corporate greed.

The problem is student debt and the Obama plan deals with that. If you want to get rid of big corporations, I'm with you buddy. But of course you don't. It's another disingenuous ********** post.

That is correct.I can understand today and with Inflation ,chow at the
cafeteria is more expensive,as is electricity and maintenance of bldgs.
But not over the last decade.I think Administrators are increasing tuitions
just because they can.Just like the way Obama was allowed to be President of
the Harvard Law review, when better applicants with better reviews
were passed over. There isn't one sentence of any Law review of Obama's
that the public can read.Nor the first lady's Thesis at Princeton on
racial divide that eventually Politico got a hold of.
" I have found that at Princeton,no matter how liberal and open-minded
some of my white professors and classmates try to be toward me,I
sometimes feel like a visitor on campus; as if I really don't belong.Regardless
of the circumstanes underwhich I interactwith whites at Princeton,
it often seems as if,to them,I will always be black first and a student second."
    Thesis,Titled ... " Princeton-educated Blacks and the Black Community "
1985.It had been temporarily withdrawn from Princeton's library.

Penalized? They took out a loan and promised to pay it back. They used to get 25 years to pay it back and then the rest disappeared into lala land, now it happens after 20 years. Payments are based on discretionary income rather than a set loan payment.

HOW EXACTLY IS THIS PENALIZING THEM??????

We have liftoff- the Tea Party just can't help expressing its contemp for higher learning.

The Bagger strategy depends on the existence of a large percentage of uneducated superstitious people who are gullible enough to buy the bagger lines about tax cuts for the rich and how illegal aliens are evil.

There is no bigger threat to conservatism than an educated population.

People ought to demand the cost of 4yr educations to be no more than the average starting salary for desired degree.

You'd have to pay for it, but here is a cliff note version.

    http://www.insidehighered.com/news/...rt_that_says_college_students_aren_t_learning

Who said anything about liberal arts? People however do go to college to learn things which has no marketable skills in the real world.

Well good for you. There are plenty of college graduates who are unemployed. What does that tell you? It tells me maybe we have too many people with college degrees.

Guess we should stop eroding the wage base. Or bring down the cost to educate.

We have liftoff -- public education as propaganda.

You really don't want an educated population do you. Just be honest about it.

Oh and I love the "inexpensive" meme. Yeah, education -- arguably the most important function a society can do to increase its wealth -- should be cheapo, like a McDonald's taco.

And there is even a higher % unemployed with no college education. What does that tell you? It tells me we have too many people?

Yes,I can take a page right from the books of David Horowitz,or
Michael Savage and even Dennis Prager, who all say the same things
about Liberal professors RUINING our Universities like at Columbia.
Eastern Universities are basically breeding grounds for future
humanoid monsters with Cyclops Ego's and persistent
    pettifoggery.

Comical. Those loans are paying for an education. Stop acting as if it's some car or house that's being purchased.

    McDonalds sells tacos?
Are colleges offering Education or Indoctrination?

Colleges are a racket however you can get a quality education - you just have to be willing to do the work yourself and suffer the consequences of the Idealists who use their classroom as bully pulpits to push their political and philosophical ideologies.

    Highly over-priced.
