No, sorry but you're wrong. It's a misconception. Yes, it is true that God commanded the Israelites to destroy the Canaanites and as we read Scripture we see why God ordered it.

We see that God had morally sufficient reasons for ordering the destruction of the Canaanites. And as we read Scripture we see nothing about God allowing the Israelites to rape women, to use them as sex slaves and other horrific acts as some critics have suggested happened. God didn't want the Israelites to follow or be influenced by all the wickedness of the Canaanites.

God said, "Because the entire land has become defiled, I am punishing the people who live there. I will cause the land to vomit them out." ---Leviticus 18:25 NLT

Link below illustrates how depraved and immorally perverted the Canaanites were.

God used the Israelites as His instrument to punish people/nations for their disobedience.

One can say that our God the Creator kept things under control. When people sinned they were dealt with. Even God's chosen people the Israelites had to live a strict life of obedience, it certainly wasn't a cake walk for them that's for sure.

So of course if any of the Israelites broke God's laws they were dealt accordingly to what the punishments were for a particular crime committed.

We see in the Book of Leviticus the detailed rules concerning the daily lives of the Israelites and special procedures for the worship of the Lord.

The Bible makes it clear that satan exists and that his main work is to oppose the rule of God in the affairs of man. satan is on a mission of hate, he hates every single one of us. You can see all this hate and evil by just turning on the evening news. And no, God is not allowing time for satan to change, since He knows he won't.

Many ponder why God would even allow satan to exist in His creation. No completely satisfying answer to this question has been found.

We mere mortals in our finite minds can only speculate, perhaps God allows it to show that evil and wrongdoing do not provide the key to the ultimate meaning of life which man so desperately desires. Or perhaps He allows it to spiritually build a Christian’s wisdom and knowledge drawing him or her closer to God and away from satan.
Nevertheless the final victory will come when Jesus returns and satan is cast into the lake of fire. (Revelation 20:1-15)
We have assurance that "The God of peace will soon crush satan under your feet." (Romans 16:20 NLT)

But such personal victory depends on God’s grace and power in our lives and our will to offer resistance to satan's temptations. To help Christians win this battle against satan, God has provided the power of Christ's blood, the continuing prayer of Christ in heaven for believers, the leading of the Holy Spirit and various weapons for spiritual warfare (Ephesians 6:13-16)

He has given all of us free will. What don't you understand about having free will? Would you prefer He made us all His puppets so we could only do His will?

Or how about everytime someone wants to do something evil, He zaps that person with 220 volts and a third of an amp of electricity?

This earth is not God's paradise. The next life for the people who believe in Him, love Him, they will be in God's paradise for all eternity!

In the first post bolded above those were YOUR words and they said that christians are above the law.........the policy of this country is that when you know a crime occured you REPORT IT! Not doing so is also a crime. Not doing so says that you think your priests are above the law.

Again, you canNOT show proof that those priests were sent to "monastic seclusion" becasue they WEREN'T....they were transfered to other parishes .And only the seriously misinformed or incredibly naive would think a monastery is a worse place than a secular penitentiary.

I am not stuck on apes theory that is why I am addressing it the way it is supposed to be the Great Ape-Human evolutionary theory is what it is a THEORY a possibility presented not as a conclusive fact but a possibility that theorist do not know what or who this great ape is except that they back then called it "great ape" because they lack proper scientific term for it plus the historical background of slavery and colonialism but most of all there are actually great ape these are the gorillas, chimps and orangutans while humans are classify separate from them. Was these an attempt back then to present that humans actually evolved from those (actual) great apes? That would seem to be the case that is why colonial Europe use this as an excuse on enslaving blacks and down grading other racial people as less human than them.

Me through Christians Universities and education have move on from the past wrong formulation of this great ape theory by properly addressing and studying it in its true scientific norm that humans are not apes nor apes are humans and that humans did not evolved from apes the graphics that we still see today presenting humans evolved from an ape is totally dishonest, misrepresentation and not proper science education.

We do not know what or who this great ape single ancestor of both humans and (actual) great apes looks like for all we know it could look like the Cro-Magno man or the Peking man.

Child rape, adult rape, murder, theft etc. are all crimes and the church does not have the policy of sending people to prison or to persecute them the church is about forgiving sins and giving them second and third chances. That is why the church is respected and recognize as a place of sanctuary.

Yes those were my words that nothing I post said that Christians are above the law you are intentionally putting words in my mouth. Your secular government have this policy called attorney/client privilege it is your lawyers who are above the law. While the church provide sanctuary to anyone that is why dictators, tyrants and authoritarian governments have always burn down churches and temples because these religious sites have always been use as a safe haven or sanctuary a sanctuary that religious groups are obligated to protect and help them to become better person protecting them from being executed, torture, persecuted or unjustly incarcerated by your government.

I suggest you discuss with your government and maybe with lawyers about attorney/client privilege

I guess you never been or live a monastic life even for 30 days this is what a monastic life kind'd look like prayer in morning, attend to farm, prayer in mid day, attend to farm or cleaning the monastery grounds, prayer in the afternoon, meditation, dinner bedtime. No talking total silence no outside visitors. But most of all no TV, no internet, New York times, no Rolling Stone magazine, etc, only the Holy Bible and other religious books. Monastic life would make Supermax prison a luxury resort. Most priest that were transferred would have made restitution not to re-offend unfortunately we see just how some individuals would hide or use the church as a means to feed their own desire not God's.

    Isaiah 55:8-9.

Everything you have posted is based on mans' conception of God. And as man has no understanding of what a Spirit (God is a Spirit, and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth) is we really don't know what God is thinking. Ancient man thought only in terms he understood, wrote in terms he understood, believed in terms he understood.

This is obvious from the whole of the history of the Hebrews. They knew that if they, as individuals in life, did something wrong, they could be punished, something good and they could be rewarded. In National life they attribute the same practise to their God. If they, as his people, did wrong, they were punished. If they did right, they were rewarded. It's theme throughout the Tanakh. David repeats it time and again in the Psalms., Book 1 - PSALM 32. Book 2 Psalms 42-72. Book 3 Psalm 90. The Prophets proclaim it. This is the Human way so we attribute it to GOD.

    Psalms 42-72

And what is the CORRECT theory on human origins?

    - - - Updated - - -

Yes...."God follows his own Rules"......pretty much covers any logical inconsistancies, doesn't it?

    So if

    1. God is omniscient.
    2. God has a plan.
    3. God doesn't change his mind.

Then God knows (and knew back to Creation) which humans would be saved and which would be damned, right?

(Here's where you desperately try to backpedal and contradict what you just said...but try not to LOOK like you're backpedalling and contradicting what you just said, by the way. :) )

Those of us who are Old Earth Creationists believe it's several billion years old. Biblically, you see creation being described from an external perspective taking 6 days. Based on Einstienian physics, that's exactly correct. There is this little know law of physics that as gravity increases, time slows. We have a pretty good idea of the mass of the universe and the rate at which time was flowing "In the beginning". If we maintain that same rate, we are living at the tail end of the 6th day since this universe came into being. With an external observer describing creation, that's what he would describe.

Sanctuary for child rapers but obviously NOT a sanctuary for the VICTIMS......that doesn't earn my respect...it only gets respect from those who don't think raping children is a big deal...

LOL. TY eh You try to tell me I got it wrong by proving what I said was correct. LOL.
Where in the bible does it say God is omniscient? It seems one of your cohorts does't think God is omniscient.
But in reality, I think he doesn't know what that big word means.

Some think they have to write the law, and those who write the law are always above the law. They don't follow man's laws.

It is good you keep bringing up these posts showing how bad the hebrew tribe was.

    What is free will?
What can you do that is NOT already known and predestined? According to God.

And we all know wickedness will win over good, according to scriptures. Lucifer will have way more souls than God. The bible says so.

A hypothesis is something that is not yet proven. A theory is something that has been proven.

There is nothing dishonest about the idea that humans evolved from apes. Humans and Chimps share 98.8% of the same DNA.

    http://www.amnh.org/exhibitions/pas...ding-our-past/dna-comparing-humans-and-chimps

We know that the changes in DNA lead to different traits over time. This is not a hypothesis, it is a fact.

Evolution is not a hypothesis, it is a theory. The process of evolution is a fact. (DNA changes/mutates over time and produces differences = fact)

We evolved in the past and we are evolving now.

This does not necessarily mean that the great ape is our direct ancestor, but we evolved from something that was really close to an ape.

Nice summary: On the other hand, there are definitions of the term 'theory' that do not coincide with that which you are founding your comments upon. Also your closing statement in effect places credence in those other definitions that differ from the one in which you are using as a basis. . . "something that was really close to an ape"???? that would suggest a degree of speculation and speculations are not "fact".

In your mind it's hypocrisy because you absolutely have no understanding, no clue as to what "free will" is all about.

What do you want God to do? Like I mentioned in my post above, do you want Him to zap a person with 220 volts and a third of an amp of electricity every time a person wants to do something evil?

Or do you wish he would just change everyone's personality so we cannot sin? This would mean we would not have a free will, we would not be able to choose right or wrong because we would be programmed only to do right. If God chosen to do this, there would be no meaningful relationships between Him and His creation.

Do you want Him to intervene 100% of the time? You want God to stop a gunmen from robbing convenience stores, a thief from shoplifting, stop a drunk from causing a fatal automobile accident?

Should God stop just true thieves or should He also stop a person from cheating on his/her tax returns? Is this what you want God to do 24/7? Do you want Him to just stop the most serious crimes but leave the lesser ones alone?...not realizing that those lesser-evil actions are what usually lead to the greater-evil actions.

Another choice would be for God to judge and remove those who choose to commit evil acts. The problem with this possibility is that there would be no one left, for God would have to remove us all.

We all sin and commit evil acts, we read in Scripture, "All of us have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory."---Romans 3:23 CEV

"If we say that we have not sinned, we are fooling ourselves, and the truth isn't in our hearts."---1 John 1:8 CEV

While we know some people are more evil than others, where would God draw the line? Ultimately, all evil causes harm to others.

Instead of these options, God has chosen to create a real world in which real choices have real consequences. In this real world of ours, our actions affect others. Because of Adam's choice to sin, the world now lives under the curse, and we are all born with a sin nature. We read in Scripture, "Adam sinned, and that sin brought death into the world. Now everyone has sinned, and so everyone must die."---Romans 5:12 CEV

There will one day come a time when God will judge the sin in this world and make all things new, but He is purposely "delaying" in order to allow more time for people to repent so that He will not need to condemn them. We read in Scripture, "The Lord isn’t slow about keeping his promises, as some people think he is. In fact, God is patient, because he wants everyone to turn from sin and no one to be lost."---2 Peter 3:9 CEV

Until then, He is very concerned about evil. When He created the Old Testament laws, the goal was to discourage and punish evil. He judges nations and rulers who disregard justice and pursue evil. Likewise, in the New Testament, God states that it is the government's responsibility to provide justice in order to protect the innocent from evil (See Romans 13). He also promises severe consequences for those who commit evil acts, especially against the "innocent" (See Mark 9:36-42).

In summary, we live in a real world where our good and evil actions have direct consequences and indirect consequences upon us and those around us. God's desire is that for all of our sakes we would obey Him that it might be well with us (See Deuteronomy 5:29). Instead, what happens is that we choose our own way, and then we blame God for not doing anything about it. Such is the heart of sinful man.

But Jesus came to change men's hearts through the power of the Holy Spirit, and He does this for those who will turn from evil and call on Him to save them from their sin and its consequences (See 2 Corinthians 5:17).

God has given us the ability to choose good and evil, and when we choose evil, He allows us, and those around us, to suffer the consequences of evil. Rather than blaming God and questioning God on why He does not prevent all evil, we should be about the business of proclaiming the cure for evil and its consequences—Jesus Christ!

How would you know that the Mughals and Ottomans were far more humane than any European power you can care to name during their respective contemporary times from 1000CE-1700CE?

Did you read that from a historical book? Why do you accept what is written from one historical book but yet reject what is written in the historical book of the Holy Bible?

Anything to do with non-Christians is ok by you but anything to do with Christians, you label them as cold blooded killers to try to discredit the faith...you are such a biased person!

How do you know for sure the books you've read are not telling lies about the conduct of the Christian states?...the answer or the truth is, you don't know for sure, yet anything that tarnishes the Christian faith you will accept...you are such a biased person!

I guess all this makes you think you are secure in your beliefs but the reality is, it is really a false security you have, for the day will come when the truth shall be made known to everyone and many will not like it! But for the others, they will indeed like it.
