So basically, this was not actually a genuine inquiry to learn about a different religion but just another bullsh1t bait thread, so that once you got the answers requested, you could try to pick them apart (which you suck at, btw - you're getting your ass kicked here. Embarrassing, really).

Got it. You claim the Gospels were divinely inspired. I agree. But most of the world doesn't. So if you're going to try to engage with a discussion about religion with those of differing faiths, at least try not to sound like such a self-righteous hypocrite. * Christianity has no more claim to validity or proof that it's "the right" religion than any other. That's what faith is about. Believing without proof. Try a little Hebrews 11...
* Claiming the Islam is "wrong" in any way because it can't prove the very same things that Christianity also can't prove, is stupid. It's like arguing over whether the outside of the universe is coated in chocolate or caramel.

The self-righteous (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)s of Jesus' day were the Pharisees and Sadducees. Their beliefs were close but they were constantly bickering using religion as a tool to gain political power & influence (Like say, Michele Bachmann or Rick Perry). The only group everyone KNEW was doing religion "wrong", were the Samaritans. So Jesus made a hero of them in one of his most famous parables. Why? One, He was kinda sarcastic and snarky, which I like.
Two, he was trying to show idiots like you that they should really quit worrying about the spiritual paths of others and focus on their own.

I am asking Muslims questions. They are legitimate questions. Muslims claim theirs is the one true religion. I am asking them to defend that proposition.

I see many holes in the Muslim religion.

The biggest hole is they have nothing to back up their claim that Mohammed was a prophet of God. He may have well been a lunatic with voices in his head. He may well have been a con man. He certainly was a violent man, and he used violence to spread his religion. Even today, Christians are forcibly converted to Islam.

I see nothing good in a religion that has spread through violence and forced conversions.

Womens rights? 96% christian Dem. Rep. Congo is worst. Infant mortality rates? Angola, where "estimates have it that more than half of the population are Roman Catholics" even though statistics aren't reliable because of mixes between Catholicism and local religions are hard to define.

It is no secret that many things that can be described by "backwardness" are residues of colonization but you'd have to give a definition of "backwards" before anyone can pinpoint anything.

As for Islam not proving Mohammed PBUH was a Prophet, there is enough proof in the Quran. The Quran is God's word. The Quran says Mohammed PBUH was a Prophet of God.

The same proof you have of Jesus PBUH being the Son of God is the same proof Islam has of Mohammed's (PBUH) Prophethood. If it's enough for you, you have no right to question my proof.

As for Islam spreading through violence, that's not true. Islam had to survive through violence. It had to fight for it's existance in a land dominated by Pagans, Christians, Jews, and other groups.

As for saying people are being forced to convert, it's not true. You can't be forced to convert to Islam. You can't be forced t believe the Shahada, and if you don't believe that you aren't a Muslim. Islam is growing because the world is learning more and more about true Islam and are embracing it. Has nothing to do with violence and force.

To answer your question why Muslim countries are backwards. No country is perfect. Including the United States of America.

There was nothing wrong with your first set of questions. Then you start insulting Islam, calling Mohammed PBUH a lunatic and con man, and saying all Muslim countries are backwards - for no reason at all.

A Muslim can never stop learning. We are encouraged to learn as much about everything, so we won't be ignorant. The Quran has described many scientific discoveries before we even knew about them.

 

Islam is spreading because Muslim women have lots of babies. You are not converting that many people.

My sister attempted to convert to Islam after marrying a Muslim husband but the Muslim community would not welcome her because she was an American.

Now she's divorcing him because he won't stop beating her and throwing things at her head. And guess what? The Koran says its ok for men to beat their wives. So my brother-in-law is being a good Muslim when he beats my sister and splits her head open with a thrown sugar bowl.

Most Muslims are only interested in getting their side of the story out and will shut down the debate if you say anything negative about Islam.

You have to admit that after 9/11, Islam has a big image problem.

If you think that's not fair, let me tell you this: I am sick and tired of hearing people act like every Catholic priest is a pedophile.

But I suck it up, because some of this criticism is fair.

It is fair to criticize Islam when so many of its members act out in violent ways.
