Well, it only took a week or so since she announced she was leaving the Democrats(which I was okay with) before she started moving over to the MAGA side.

I had hoped she would remain an independent, or at least not support Trump or his clones, but I didn't get what I wanted.

I wrote-in Tulsi Gabbard for president in 2020, and was planning on doing the same most likely in 2024.

Not anymore. Whatever soul searching she did that led her to support MAGA candidates has effectively ended my support of her. I could be fine with her supporting regular Republicans. But helping Trump get one his lackeys elected is a bridge too far. And Kari Lake of all people, whose only qualification is that Trump endorsed her and she seems poised to take up his election fraud bullshit.

And it makes no logical sense. She was concerned about the extremist element in the Democratic party taking over, and here she is helping the extremist element in the Republican party take over. I agreed with a lot of what she said about the Democrats, and thought to myself "here's someone who finally gets it", but no, she doesn't. "Getting it" was not the driver here.

The driver as it appears now was simply that the extremists in power were from the wrong party for her.

I don't regret my vote for her in 2020, but it will be the last one she gets from me.

And for Kari Lake of all people, these people like Gabbard talk the talk but don't walk with a moral compass, it's all and only about "them".

As I said in the other thread, this is no surprise. She knows who butters her bread, it's the MAGA voters and Tucker watchers. When she sat in for Tucker at Fox, it was clear where she was heading.

I might even have responded to you and said something like "Going on FOX news doesn't mean she's now a Republican". I know I responded to somebody who said something along those lines.

Clearly I was so very wrong.

I mean, I could actually be okay if she was a moderate Republican, but supporting Trump candidates is just way too far.

Pretty much all of them are trump candidates. Didn’t you watch the primaries?

It is more complicated than just agreeing entirely with the MAGA candidates. She is trying to assure that there is a republican majority.

Doesn't matter what her goal is, there is no excuse whatsoever for supporting Trump or the candidates he has personally chosen. She is simply helping to replace one set of extremists with another.

I never said there were a bunch who weren't, but I could be okay with her supporting those few.

I don't blame her either for leaving the Democrats. That I'm perfectly fine with. But choosing to support Trump candidates is an entirely separate matter.

There’s only two parties in the country. If you don’t vote for one you’re supporting the other whom you disagree with more.

Because one less votes for the Dems is a boon for republicans and one less vote for pubs is a boon for dems

Russian web trolls boo Biden, often boost Gabbard, report finds
For Russia, Biden is to 2020 what Hillary Clinton was to 2016, researchers from the Foreign Policy Research Institute say in a new report.

WASHINGTON — Among Democrats running for president, Tulsi Gabbard is popular with Russian propagandists, while Joe Biden draws the most criticism, according to a new analysis.

Mentions of Gabbard, a Hawaii congresswoman, by English-language Russian propaganda outlets were 46 percent favorable and 44 percent unfavorable, a research team from the Foreign Policy Research Institute found after analyzing more than 1,700 news stories put out by Sputnik and Russia Today, or RT. She was the only Democratic candidate with more favorable than unfavorable mentions.

References to the former vice president, by contrast, were 3 percent favorable and 53 percent unfavorable. The rest were neutral.

Mainstream Dems Ask: Is Tulsi Gabbard a Russian Asset?
As CNN political commentator Ana Navarro-Cárdenas tweeted, “Folks, when both the Russians and Trump support someone, be wary. Be very wary.”

I have said multiple times that the US can do better than a choice between Trump and Biden. However, when it comes down to choosing between the two, I would choose Trump. All we have to do is look at the disastrous state of the US after less than two years of Biden.

Trump will never pick Tulsi Gabbard. Maybe MTG. A better choice would be Nikki Haley for VP. But this assumes Trump is running and actually wins the nomination.

Now, a DeSantis/Gubbard Ticket is more plausible because DeSantis, unlike Trump, actually can count to five on his own without any help.

So just to get this straight,
You didn't have a problem when Hillary went on a 2 year book tour about how the election was stolen by Russians
You didn't have a problem with Democrats hosting a 3 tear fake investigation about Trump being a Russian plant
You didn't have a problem with Brazile claiming the election was rigged.
You didn't have a problem when Democrats were trying to get electors to falsify their vote in 2016
You didn't have a problem when Democrats tried to overturn elector votes in January of 2017
You didn't have a problem when the DNC rigged results to get rid of Sanders where the DNC president had to resign publicly the first night of their convention
But now any mention of election fraud effectively ends your support of candidates because they are extremist?
Coupled with wasting your vote that has no possibility of counting that you were willing to do again?
Maybe it isn't MAGA that is driving you.

Yeah, I've been done buying into that bullshit since 2016. The only way out of a two party system is to stop voting for only those two parties. Maybe it'll never happen, but I won't be contributing my vote to any candidate who doesn't deserve it. That's why I didn't vote for Biden in 2020 despite my intense loathing of Donald Trump.

Trump has always been a moderate liberal.
Tulsi Gabbard would be a good choice if Trump really wants to run again.

Tulsi is an independent. Kari Lake comes across to this Floridian as a like-minded woman, one defending constitutional governance which the current Dem party has completely abandoned.

Tulsi and Kari are an ideal partnership. :applause:

How do you know my position on any of those examples that you're always bringing up?

I have a problem anytime a party tries to use fake election fraud claims to derail elections. If the Democrats do it, I have a problem with it. If the Republicans do it, I have a problem with it.

Go ahead and link me to the post where I support the DNC and said it was okay for Democrats to have done the things you list? I'll wait.

My vote counts no matter who it goes to. It counts as much as the next person's, because your vote is your voice. If you raise your voice in support of a candidate you do not value beyond the letter next to their name, THAT is when you have wasted your vote.

well far be it from me to attempt to convince political opponents to vote against my side. However, I am a conservative and I feel we are better served when we vote. So I would proffer you should reconsider your position.
