How about we let parents physically discipline their kids again? You do realize sometimes people are bullies because they've never actually had to taste their own medicine before, right?
I am opposed to spanking. Disipline is fine, but I am not sure that hitting teaches a child anything other than it is okay for them to hit. It would be interesting to know if bullies were spanked by their parents. It might provide a few answers.
I like how you pick and choose what you respond to. Let's say I and in front of you about about to beat you to death and nobody, not your parents, witnesses or the government, are anywhere in sight to save you. Do you curl up in a ball and die, or fight?
All the bullies I've known have mentally taken control over their parents, or in other words, call the shots and for some reason their parents are under this impression that they can do no wrong.
Some people suck as parents. We know that. Many kids have taken control over their parents, and the parents simply need to take control back. That doesn't mean they need to hit their kids, though.
Glad to keep you pleased. My first response is to run. Strange how you didn't even consider that option; it says a lot. You could only think of two possible reactions: that's a worrying sign. My absolute last resort would be a violent response. Some of us have evolved, some have not. Go figure.
It depends on the situation. Some people respond to being hit while others don't. In my experience, the one bully who physically threatened me responded quite well to violence. He bled, he cried, he went to the hospital, lost teeth and I assure you he either never bullied again, is dead or in prison somewhere. But why restrict someone from the opportunity of learning a valuable life lesson? I'm glad I didn't and I wouldn't do it again. I gave that boy the knowledge necessary to learn that lesson, and every decent human being would do the same thing, and it didn't come from words or running. Had I just ran away or told the teacher, someone else would've had do it. It's just comes down to are your on the weaker side of humanity or more tilting towards strong? Not about being evolved but if that's what helps the weaker among us sleep at night than so be it.
Heres the simple difference that i cannot believe never entered your mind...we're talking about kids. Not free adults who CHOOSE to sign up for a discussion board, knowing not everyone agrees and that some discussions will get heated. How the heck do you make the leap of voluntary, and sometimes heated back and forth debate....and bullying kids, or being glad that some kid is dead?? I'm naive? Yeah...try again Joe....or don't if you refuse to put more thought into it. I don't give a toss either way.
One of the stupidest things I've seen said on this board. Hey, some kids are born with actual physical handicaps..derp...and cannot follow your rules of manhood. Some kids are born with handicaps which do not allow them to do things you or I take for granted...like not having knuckles for example. Try making a fist to punch, or grapple with someone without those. Then come back and tell me what a man you are.
As long as we are in a country that goes around the world being a bully in the name of "policing" actions, we will have bullies in schools....oh wait, nevermind, it is human nature for kids to be bullies, and only the parents can stop that type of behavior. Sad, I guess the US government is taking after kids, and not the other way around.
quite the opposite; people are human beings i trust a childs honesty before most adults when it comes to these kinds of issues kind of like teaching a kid that some dead dude saved you from your sins, that is just dispicable! cruelty comes in many forms. Teaching a child lies about beliefs is wrong. Lady gaga is a nut and although compassionate care for a child with a cleft palet is appropriate, the nut job is supporting an issue publically that is wrong. Lady gaga is a nut for supporting the issue that jamey was OK and jamey is dead because of self inflicted suicide based on confusion that was not treated with quality information. Just because a 'star' makes good music does not mean their position is correct. The sister should not be pursecuted, but that wasnt bullying. The bullying was the wingnuts began chanting for something queer to reality. That gaga chic is a nut on many fronts. for example; She wasted good food just to be noticed. A life died for her pursuit of attention. And now she is using this issue for the same thing.(ie...a life died) Jamey died because the exposures within this world is confusing children with some extremely nasty (*)(*)(*)(*).
I hate bullying and bullies. But, if we stop bullying in the schools, where we people learn to deal with bullying in the workplace from management and unions and bullying from the govnerment and bullying in marriage? Perhaps instead of stopping bullying with silly rules in schools we should teach people to deal with bullies. I have deal with bullies my whole life and I'm seventy-years old and I never had to knock anyone's teeth out.
The question of Zero Tolerance is a tough one, but what I think should definitely be in place is an understandable avenue for children to get help when they are being bullied. That is to say a clearly specified guidance counselor or other social worker with an office who children know is the one to talk to when bullying occurs. No such thing existed when I was in school (or at least it wasn't communicated to children clearly); perhaps it is significantly better now, can anyone currently involved in the school system weigh in on this?
...ok, I'll play your game, and when the law isn't standing right there to protect you wtf are you going to do OTHER THEN get the crap beat out of you?...are you really from Australia?...you women that claim to be from there aren't anything like the Australians I've met...they were all pretty "scrappy", you guys are mostly "limp wristed"... Kabuki Joe
...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...Darwin's theory, "survival of the fittest"...like I have said many times on this forum, we are now in a cycle of "reverse Darwinism"... Kabuki Joe
...usually when you are good at something you shun it...for example, I wouldn't be good at being gay so I shun the gay agenda, you aren't good at fighting so you shun violence...we're even I guess... Kabuki Joe
...the way I look at it is you are "flawed", not them...you are the one that is metally dysfunctional and tried to end your life and they are wrong because they didn't give you a "there there, it'll be alright poopsy"...every day I read something new that boggles my mind about you liberals... Kabuki Joe
While as an adult it's foolish to resort to violence, mainly for legal reasons, as a minor you would've felt empowered beyond belief had you stepped up to just one of the bullies. I recommend it to anyone under 17 who is sick and tired of getting pushed around (both physically and verbally).
