    Nope!

It is called attacking the MESSENGER because they cannot refute the MESSAGE.

In effect it is a de facto concession that they have surrendered their position to a superior argument.

I guess I should read this whole thread before I become defensive, but after perusing the last two pages I disagree quite a bit with the remarks suggesting that extremists have taken over the party, actually if I was going to be critical of extremism i'd be hammering away at the dem's.

I consider myself moderate right and my issues seem to align quite well with what the potus and the gop is up to right now with regards to taxes/immigration/trade/war. If that makes me someone with extremist views I'd be interested to learn how and why someone thinks that. The biggest complaint I have would be lack of fiscal responsibility (deficits) but that complaint is the same one I've had for 15 years.

So in a two sentence reply patting yourself for engaging in civil discourse, you opt to use the term BLOTUS. LOL........introspection clearly is not your strong suit.

You are throwing out an invective while talking about your penchant for civil discourse. It is obvious that the irony in such a statement, completely escapes you. You may as well be accusing someone of not being able to refrain from violence, while you are punching them in the nose.

Like speaks to like. I'm civil in my replies until someone is snarky to me, then I snark back.

Sorry, I still don't know what you're talking about. Are you having trouble with a neighbor?

I like minimalism, but in an online forum like this, it is usually best to be explicit. When you say neighbor, who are you talking about? When you say "lust to dominate one's fellow man" what do you mean? An example or two would be helpful.

Powell at the UN in 2000? Please refresh my memory. I remember the travesty of Colin Powell lying to the UN about Iraq's WMDs, but that was in 2003. The travesty in the 2000 election was the voting methods in Florida and the infamous "hanging chads" followed by the Supreme Court deciding the election.

Where are the GENUINE Democrat politicians who put the good of the nation ahead of partisan politics?

The last truly GENUINE Democrat politician who put the good of the nation ahead of partisan politics was JFK.

JFK signed into law huge corporate and personal tax cuts, was an NRA member and was pro-life.

The modern Democrat party is none of that!

It doesn't. But if you don't vote, then IMO you've no right to complain about government and what it does or doesn't do.

THREAD LOCKED - Rule 11 - OP failed to establish a respectful basis for debate

The OP made no effort to establish a basis for respectful debate. The OP is simply bashing one's opponents.
