Would you drown a baby, if you thought its parents were evil?

Just because a baby's parents are evil does not mean the child will be.

Although Genetics play a great part in Human development so does upbringing and experience.

It is good that people see thru this ruse. It is an old worn out tactic atheists use to troll forums and sell books to rubes. To even think that any human has the moral standing to pass such a judgement is ludicrous. I guess those who make these claims don't believe any babies were killed when the US nuked Japan.

so if I'm reading this right, you claim humans are incapable of objective morality, or determining same (what you call judgement)?

once again, if this is correct, how have you "judged" that god is good?

and yet many xians seem to "know" god is good. they even go a step further and claim to know satan is evil. how do you explain that - given the human inability to make these objectively moral determinations?

Well, people like to think they know things that they don't. It probably gives them a sense of comfort in an unsure world.

of course, but this doesn't explain the surety many christians have that their boy is 'pure and perfect'. it's the surety I'm curious about, not so much the motivation.

That has always confused me as well. Even during the times of my life when I was the most religious, I always had doubt.

Compared to the self-aggrandizing debate champion for three years running, I'm sure my comments are weak.

    More humane than... What?

People have been revived after drowning, and we have this thing called waterboarding which is just simulated drowning.

[quore]Well, you need to give some examples because your claims have been proven phony before.[/QUOTE]

Examples of what? And what claims have been proven phony? Are you talking about when you realized you didn't understand how references to Biblical chapters and verses worked? When you thought that Genesis 6-8 was a reference to a verse?

LOL! Keep pretending that you haven't been defeated. Ignoring the truth won't change it.

If it's any consolation, the story in question is fiction, anyway.

    Just like YHWH himself.

You mean like people pretending that Genesis 6-8 refers to a verse?

It's funny no Bible Believer has tried to make the case the babies drowned in the Flood WERE "evil" and God was "justified" in killing them.

Figure that might have something to do with arguments they like to make when it comes to...abortion???

I'm saying that it didn't and that it usually doesn't. Once you saw that I was posting multiple verses from Genesis chapters 6 through 8, a lightbulb should have gone off in your head.

What is the deal with some people always using that ridiculous term Strawman?

Does anyone here know what an ACTUAL Strawman is and was used for?

Here is what a Strawman is.

In Julius Caesar's Commentaries, he connects the burning of a wicker man to the Druid practice of human sacrifice -- essentially, the wicker man was a cage in which a real person was placed. Fortunately, that practice died out with the Druids, but many people still like the idea of creating a man from the detritus of the garden at the time of harvest's end. In some Pagan and Wiccan paths, this man is known as the King of Winter, and he can be created in an altar-top size to watch over your home throughout the chilly months.

This is actually one of the easiest and most primitive projects you can do. You can incorporate it into your Samhain rituals, or make one any time. You'll need two bundles of leftover plants out of your garden (if you don't have a garden, it's perfectly fine to gather some plants at the side of the road) and some string. If you're using plants from your garden, feel free to mix and match different branches. The straw man in the photo is made from hyssop, rosemary, and stevia. Make sure one bundle of plants is slightly thicker than the other.

Collateral damage is a fancy term for "intentional killing of innocents"

Are you saying that God intentionally killed innocent children ?
