The majority in Florida support the bill. I think they are Republicans.

And it DOES trigger an emotional reaction in people like yourself, but I am not sure if its by design, or if just happened. Either way the term is fairly accurate, like nick-names usually are.

I'm not sure about that, but I know most independents oppose because they see it for what is it: authoritarian government overreach,

Because they withdrew an amendment you don't like?

Who is more agitated by the bill, you or us? Who is itching for repeal, you or us?

We've proved that you don't know what the bill says, does, intends, provides, restricts, allows, or punishes. Or perhaps you know and are deliberately misrepresenting it.

It's best to know the laws of one's own state.

You can't report it yourself? Or is it beneficial to the discussion to post things you now know are not factual?

Limiting the "rights" of government employees to teach your own children about sexuality isn't overreach. It's the opposite.

We are talking about being triggered by the nickname, and you prove it every time you whine about it.

As for the bill itself, I prefer smaller government, while you prefer bigger and a moral police. It is what it is

There is no misrepresentation and the nick name is very accurate. Sorry if it triggers you.

When the government plays the moral police or the chief parent, then its obviously an overreach because it has a direct impact on peoples lives. I get it. You like government taking over. Its ok. We have different world views.

The word "progressive" means it is in the progress. People's goal is to prevent that contagious brain disease.

Only a sick mind could imagine a first grade teacher giving a blow job class. It’s already illegal.

Quit trying to equate grammar school teachers with Catholic priests.

Wouldn't that mean Floridians are uber progressive people? So progressive that the government has to put a tight leash on "We The People".

Never the less such books are in elementary school libraries and have been made assigned reading. Look up the book gender queer and you will find the screen shots of the pictures and diagrams found in the book including a grown man getting a blowjob from an elementary school boy.

That is not appropriate or educational so it does not belong in public schools especially elementary schools.

Actually it prevents instruction on sexual orientation and gender identity until 9th grade. Anal and blowjobs has nothing to do with either.

The only leash is put on government employed teachers. Leashes for government employees is a good thing.

There are hundreds more links. BT@ that book is only one of dozens, it is a comic book style picture book designed to appeal to elementary school aged children, it depicts gas sex, adults having sex with elementary school aged children, elementary school aged girls sticking dildos up their butt holes, and very young girls working as sex workers. Yes, that is pornography aa well as child sexual abuse and it does not belong in public schools.

Remember that next time some leftist babbles stupidly about "banned books". Ask what is in the books and realize not one was banned. They simply are no longer bought by public schools and shown to children as part of their school assignments. You can still buy the porn of you are an adult and want to do so.

    Remember the word "progressive"
Slow children sexualization, is the first step to legal pedophilia.

It is similar to COVID restrictions, government is doing right thing by trying to stop contagious "progressive" brain disease.

Sounds like you believe government needs to play the role of a thought police.

Absolutely, because government is about equal rights, not the special rights for homosexuals and pedophiliacs.
Just keep it private and do not demand priviliges to force everyone to be a pervert.

That's a howler. Who is alarmed and agitating for repeal?

We are all honor bound to call out lies and misrepresentations, as my side has done throughout this thread. I'm proud to support your rights as a parent. Someone has to stand up for you if you won't do it yourself.

Now tell us again about the criminal consequences of saying "gay" in Florida.

You know, for someone who claims to stay out of decisions not related to him, you sure do seem like someone who does exactly the opposite that.

I don't think I ever said that, though it sounds like a good idea. I think I actually said this:

And I'm not complaining about the Florida law; I'm defending it against ridiculous mischaracterizations by the very people it is intended to protect: Floridians with kids in public schools who prefer that the school stay out of this area, probably because they don't trust teachers, many of them 20-somethings fresh out of college, to not encourage transitioning.

Here's a link that shows a bit of the content

    https://theiowastandard.com/shockin...h-is-stocked-in-school-libraries-across-iowa/

Seems a bit much to me that a teacher would require a student to read this book as asserted by this article,

    https://katv.com/news/nation-world/...ict-american-library-association-banned-books

quite the url there, isn't it?

I find kids to be annoying and have none myself, so I'm really not qualified to step into a debate about what should or shouldn't be taught in public schools.

The author of this book seemingly has issues that might be comforting to some kids that also have similar issues.

Banning these sort of books is one thing, requiring kids to read them is another, isn't it?

Oh my gawd, it's a freaking pronoun law. Just effing wow.... Pronoun education has attained a level where this sort of legislation is necessary? For English!? What a trip. What I wonder do folks opposed to the oppressive nature of assigning pronouns based on gender think of entire languages like Spanish and French?
