Men - What do you propose to do to effectively reduce the abortion rate?

You seem to think that men want to reduce the number of abortions. Those taking advantage of the situation i don't think want to do anything of the sort. They want to continue to have irresponsible sex and under no circumstances have to face any consequences.

Having said that, in my opinion, the only way to turn this around is recognize the sanctity of life.

 

Teach young boys to shoot on them not in them. I know a lot of guys claim they did and still got the chick pregnant, but they just don't want to admit how dumb they were. Pulling out works.

 

The purpose of marriage is procreation, then?

 

I have a friend who just had a baby boy. She told me and my other friend that she got pregnant because he just, "didn't feel like pulling out".

I think our jaws were on the floor when she said that. Of course we asked her what her plan was, whether to keep it or abort. She said she wanted to keep it and essentially try and trap him into a relationship with her. She's always had this little fantasy of being a mommy and having a little family of her own.

Of course he is completely the wrong man to do this with. He still goes out and cheats on her all the time and brags about it to his friends.

Honestly I wish she'd had an abortion. She will be horribly unhappy with this unreliable drunk, idiot for at least the next 18 to 20 years. Whether she chooses to stay with him or she separates she will forever have that connection with him through their child and will have to deal with him on a regular basis. This is why abortion is so necessary. To save people who are just awful for one another and who cannot provide a functional, healthy home for the child. It's a shame really and she's just too young/immature to be having kids anyways. She constantly complains about her lack of freedom. I sometimes worry we'll have another Casey Anthony one of these days with her...

 

The responsibility is on the female. Just say no, put up a "closed" sign at the tunnel entrance. Guys can get all the erections they want, and we can just find something else to do with them when the ladies refuse entry.

For the life of me I can't figure out your objection to that. Women have all the power, all of it. Feminist dream.

 

I can see what you are saying. In America though, everything, like TB says, caters to women. The only thing that can keep men free from the wrath of a trapping woman and state muscle backing her up, as well as unwanted pregnancy, is men taking the initiative. There was a few times in my life where I gave a chick the "tap" while riding me and they dug in trying to make it happen. I would throw um off. The problem in America is no one wants to take the time to do things right. On every level, instant gratification that costs more in the long run, the norm. I watch people at my job delaying doing the right thing, to be lazy for 20 minutes, that ends up costing them an hour. Look at politics and the band-aid legislation year after year. Every part of our society is cursed by this fact.

 

So your alternative solution is just to give up and make no effort at all? No thanks. That's a very defeatist attitude.

Like I said, it's a slow process. But all people, no matter how altruistic, are ultimately motivated by self interest. And if they can clearly see for themselves that their own lives will benefit from doing what you're doing, they will change course. We all do this with countless things everyday whether we realize it or not.

You clearly have a lot of self-esteem issues. You are way too easily offended. And it has made you a lot more sexist than you realize.

 

Just one question. How do you show other people that you don't participate in abortions? How would they know that you don't?

 

So would the man refuse to use a condom, expecting the woman to be on the pill?

 

So a woman who never wishes to be a mother should never have sex?

I sooo agree with this one. This "what's-best-for-the-child" con must stop. But since women know that they are the primary beneficiaries of this, through their "unwanted" pregnancies, they will fight every legislation men may bring forward to control it. Most men in legislative power fall victim to the "poor child" bull(*)(*)(*)(*), that the feminist child support legislations push.

 

Sorry but that is a cop out. you acknowledge there are men taking advantage of women and having unprotected sex but refuse to come up with any workable social solutions other than "stop abortions and make women have babies"

I'm very responsible, always have been. I'm only pointing out for the umpteenth time that women have all the power over whether or not they get pregnant. A woman cannot get pregnant if she doesn't open her legs. Were you unaware of that?

Depends on the man, but if the ladies tunnel of love is closed for repairs, it doesn't mean a darned thing what control a man has.

The better question for this thread would have been, "how can women have all the sex they want with no chance of unwanted pregnancy?" Because the fact is, it is impossible to have an unwanted pregnancy without having an open for business sign up on your mons.

So your answer is - men should take no responsibility for any actions that might result in pregnancy but men also should have the ultimate say in whether or not women have an abortion as a result of failed contraception

If every woman kept her legs closed, men would be complaining because they can't get any sex.
