How can it be that Islam is blossoming all over the USA, with a 57% increase in the number of mosques over the past 10 years (Christian Science Monitor, Sept. 2010) ? How is it possible that an ideology, purporting to be a religion, which demands Sharia law (an automatic violation of Article 6 of the US Constitution - the Supremacy Clause), could even be allowed to practice its propaganda, constantly preaching the violation of scores of American laws ?

The question is simple. Being that Islam demands the imposition of Sharia Law, which demands supremacy over all/any other law (including the US Constitution), shouldn't it be banned ? Instead of 1800 (or however many there are) mosques in the US, shouldn't there be none, with all mosques converted into homeless shelters or buildings providing some kind of needed social service ?

And shouldn't Muslim Brotherhood front organizations like CAIR, ISNA, MSA, MAS, et al of their Jihadist ilk, be shut down as the subversive traitors that they are ? If not, why not ?

Islam should not be banned for the actions of some people that follow it any more than christianity should be banned for the actions of the Nazi's and the KKK.

If you are getting your information from a source like the CSM, rather than going out and actually trying to meet some Muslims. Then you are engaging in pure ignorance.

We have large mosque just a few miles from my home and Muslims in my area are nothing new and they own the convenice stores and some of the lower end hotel/motels in the region and they are as American as you and I.

Most Muslims in America are Iranians who fled Iran when the Shah got deposed precisely for the reason they DON'T want to live under Shariah law. They wanted opportunity and freedom for their children and good schools and they didn't want to live under the tyranny of the mullahs.

Now granted, up in Detroit and a few other areas there are Imams who preach hate. But that has more to do with the economic conditions in those cities which makes the muslim community more vulnerable to the insanity of Jihad.

I have never met a successful muslim who pursued Jihad. Jihad is bad for business and I guarantee you that Muslims, take Capitalism to religious level.

Problem is Islam IS jihad. And has been for 1400 years. As for the Muslims who you say are as American as you or I, how do you know ? Do you check inside their houses and bedrooms for Sura 4:34 of the Koran (wife-beating). Checked their back yards or large land holdings for criminal animal cruelty killings on Eid al-Adha ? Checked inside their homes to see if they have slaves inside who never go out (arrests have been made for this). Know if they've been engaging in Islamization like these things ?

And do you know where these "American as you or I" Muslims would stand, if the Muslim Brotherhoods efforts ever got to the point of overtaking the US government and abolishing the Constitution ? Would they THEN be "American as you or I", or as Muslim as the Muslim Brotherhood militants ?

Basic point is Isalm is a supremacist ideology, and therefore in violation of the Constitution's Supremacy Clause (Article 6 section 2) and violate US sedition laws (USC 2384 & 2385). This is not the case with Christianity.

Islam is as good as jewism, and catholicism, and cristianism. No need to ban it from the USA. I would be in favor of bannin islam from the uSA if they also ban all the other religions.

First, Islam is not a religion. It is a political ideology, masquerading as a religion.

Secondly, the religions you mentioned, are not supremacist like Islam, and are not seditious, and in violation of US sedition laws, as well as unconstitutional by virtue of the Supremacy Clause.

Personally, It is my opinion that anyone who thinks it's ok to ban people from following a religion should have their religious rights stripped from them,.

The "successful Muslims" are the ones who will give their Zakat money to bogus Islamic charities who are funding jihad elsewhere in the world.

I mostly agree with the OP. Islam presents a unique threat to the country because it is a subversive political ideology that calls itself a religion, which gives it protection under our Constitution and becomes "taboo" to criticize. The Muslim Brotherhood is heavily entrenched in the highest levels of our Government and society, and its many front groups are actively trying to implement Islam, little by little. This same progression is what happened in Europe, and we can already see the fruits of that progression.

Muslims represent too small of a minority right now for them to be pressuring us the way they are pressuring Europeans. If/when they become more than 5% of the population, we will see them actively pushing for Sharia to be implemented, which they believe is their religious goal.

Ignoring this issue because "I know a few Muslims" is blindness.

Edit: I say "mostly agree with the OP". We need to ban Islam from our Government and system of law. Nowhere should Sharia have a foothold. However, if people want to pray to Muhammad, we can't really stop them, and it's unconstitutional to prevent them. We allow the KKK to operate and other hate groups, so unfortunately, we have to deal with Islamists as well. If they had no chance of bringing their way of life into our society, though, and we didn't tolerate a creeping Sharia, we would be in control, not them.

It isn't unconstitutional to stop them because the only part of the Constitution that allows them is the first Amendment. This is a faulty premise.

    1. Islam is not a religion.

    2. Even if it was a religion, the Constitution only grants religious freedom on the condition that it doesn't establish itself as supreme over the Constitution.
Problem with Islam is, it does just that.

    3. The first amendment is a relatively weak part of the Constitution and has numerous exceptions to it. For example, with free speech there is libel, slander, fighting words, sedition, treason, inciting a riot, conspiracy laws, perjury - all illegal. In contrast the Supremacy Clause (Article 6, section 2) is the most powerful part of the Constitution and even notes in it that it is supreme over any thing else in the Constitution itself :

"This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding."

That "any Thing in the Constitution" part includes the 1st amendment.

No it's not. I already stated that IMO Islam is not a religion. Even if it was, it doesn't have the right to be supreme over the Constitution. The Constitution does not allow that. See post # 11.

FALSE ! Christianity and Judaism are in no way supremacist politically, as Islam is. Also, religions contain a code of ethics. Islam which advocates (if not commands) imperialist genocide, severe misogyny including wife beating, kidnapping/slavery, pedophilia, rape, robbery, torture, mutilation, animal cruelty, and other vile behaviors, is more like a dictionary of UNethics.
Islam is about the farthest thing from a religion anything could be.

So for this thread in a Nutshell...

Islam isn't a religion because I said so and it should be banned because it's a Political Ideology because I said so.

    Great start so far!

id ban islam if you banned christianity as well

islam is a religion as it worships a god, just like christianity - simple really.

    however, religion IS ideology.
and ALL ideology is intellectuality bankrupt, morally unsound, mentally unstable, and emotionally retarded.

christinaity was considered seditious enough to the state for your constitution to separate church from state.
thus muslims can preach as much as they like to introduce sharia into USA governance, just as much as christian extremist nutjobs can also preach as much as they like to introduce creationism into USA schools, etc, etc, etc.
good luck to them - you have laws about such things.

It is a religion, to think otherwise is ridiculous.

And it is the constitution that protects religious freedom. However, no religion is "over" the constitution.

I feel stupider just responding to this thread.

I think the US should ban Islamism, as a political ideology, not Islam as a religion. There's actually a difference between the two.

Sounds like religion is all the same. The only difference is it's name, as they all have the same agenda and brainwashing. In the USA we have religious cults that back candidates and politicians base their decision on religious beliefs. Same as muslims, no difference. It is just that muslim countries appoint religious leaders, in the USA we appoint religious leaders who try to dictate religion but they fail.

Look man, you can't stop people from seeking private arbitration for their disagreements! Nothing says if you disagree with your neighbor you HAVE to take it to a judge. You can take it to your other neighbor across the street if you want and let HIM arbitrate your disagreement.

You are basically freaking out about private arbitration settlement within a certain ethnic community. The US Constitution is INVIOLATE in this nation and a mere 5% of Muslims can't do a (*)(*)(*)(*) thing to change that. You are being xenophobic and paranoid.

If there are a group of Muslims somewhere who don't want to use the US court system to resolve their disputes among eachother they have every right ot seek a private arbitration with whoever they (*)(*)(*)(*) well please and if that arbitration uses Sharia law as it's method of arbitration then to (*)(*)(*)(*) bad for you.

They certainly can't force Shariah arbitration on the rest of us so WTF is yoru problem?

Muslims can't "take over" the American Government and no one says that only the US court system is the primary arbiter of disputes in America.

This would be like if you and I argued over a fence line and neither of us wanted to pay the court costs we went across the street to our neighbor asked him to arbitrate our sides and agreed that whatever he decides is a binding agreement between us. What is wrong with that? There is no law that says we have to go give a bunch of money to the courts, so why should we?

Private arbitration used to be the norm in this country back when judges rode circuit and you may not see a judge for 6 months to a year.

The Constitution applies to interactions between Government and The People. There is NO regulation of interactions between The People themselves and you do not have to use a judge for your arbitration. You can use anyone you want as long as you two agree on it.

If two disputing Muslims have a disagreement and they feel more comfortable with the Imam granting judgement, as long as both of them agree to it, You have no business intervening in that!

Now if one muslim decides that the Imam isn't fair and just, he is more than free to pursue the case in a US court of law if he wishes. So what exactly is the issue here?

The issue is you are engaging in interfering in the PRIVATE AFFAIRS of other people where you shouldn't be and that is COMPLETELY UNAMERICAN. You do not have a right to make laws interfering in the private dispute arbitration between two private citizens.

Islam is a terrorist organization and should be banned in the United States.

The rest of your bigoted nonsense aside, you people don't want to fund any sort of social services, so maybe you could turn over the empty buildings to gun dealers so they have more places to do business, and to right-wing fundamentalist preachers, because they must surely be tired of working in drafty sideshow tents.
That way, you can help to perpetuate the inbred clan of right-wing idiots who only know how to cling to their guns and bibles as they clamor to exterminate the rest of the world for not being just like them.
