It was your post posted in a clear position of response to his post.

Look, we can argue if what Israel is doing is right or wrong (or somewhere in between) all day, but you gotta stop with the intentional mischaracterizations of what others post.

We'll never get to what you claim you want to debate if you are constantly doing that...

I certainly have an alternative to pounding Gaza back to the Stone Age....

I hardly think it’s pathetic. I think it’s necessary to attack the way they are. When a government who builds their military in a way not to protect the citizen but for the citizen to protect the military it gives those using self defense little option but to attack anyway. Otherwise Gaza could relentlessly attack Israel with impunity.

I have been thinking about how Israel might handle Gaza after Hamas is defeated. I think the first thing Israel should demand is that they get to dictate the education of Gazan children for at least a generation to prevent them from being brainwashed into murdering Jews as part of their school education. The second thing I can think of is that Israel should provide the only allowable security for Gaza for a while because Islam can't be trusted to police their own radicals. So, they shouldn't be armed.

Just simply pathetic this mishmash of crap you've thrown against the wall here. So, you've offered that special forces could have exacted revenge better than what has been accomplished to date, and I would agree for the most part. Rockets and bombs from x thousand feet certainly aren't particularly discriminatory as toward how Gazan babies and children have suffered as "the enemy in the war against Israel". I'm most likely as familiar with the facts of what happened on 7 Oct 23 as you are, so that bit of info adds nothing to this discussion. Yes, the US entry into WWII was predicated upon revenge, perhaps you'll recall the event. I'm discussing it with you at the moment: you approve of this Old Testament approach to killing every man woman and child? Oliver Stone's view of the world, I have plenty of gaps agreeing with it as well, but the portion of the script from Platoon I offered has very little to do with that aside from that Stone actually served in 'Nam: did you?

Remove the State of Israel to the promised Land in Tasmania where the locals are not hostile and the neighbours are friendly.

    Unreasonable.

Isreal is under no moral requirement to leave thier homes.

Instead, Palestinians can stop with the terrorism thier govt is supporting.

Revenge against individual members, over a lengthy period of time Is a special forces thing. Crippling the enemy so they cannot continue to attack with such ferocity requires an army. And isreal is doing a great job at accomplishing thoer goal. It's a shame hamas is hiding behind civilians without any criticism from so many in our world

Obviously, Israel is trying to take over the Middle East, 3 inches at a time.

No Einstein, this is about the arab/moslem mentality that the entire world belongs to them and their reprehensible customs and only they decide what is right and wrong. If you're not one of them, you deserve to die. Everyone but them deserves nothing. This is what you're defending.

Yes the poster stating it was a lost cause for Israel

    Here again
    "
If its goal was to protect Israel, massive fail. Further, it has zero chance of stamping out anti State of Israel resentment while it exists geographically cornered by Arabs.
    "

so they should not continue. Meaning they just give up and let the terrorist just wipe them out.

So what is that alternative you state you have?

I'll answer this a third time, just for widdle old you.

Solve the problem, not exterminate a people...

They are slowly learning that policy will NOT maintain allies or unconditional aid.

Alas, things would be somewhat better with a non-criminal PM in there....... as it is here now...

Are you arguing it’s not genocide-ish or that it’s ok because of what Hamas is doing?

Yes you should have stopped there rather than trying to put words in my mouth.

Only because they stayed in the war zones that were clearly declared before hand. Since when were there not civilian casualtities in a war, perhaps the Palestinian's should have considered that before they started it.

I think it had more to do with self-defense. Do you think we entered into the European theater merely for revenge?

You try to put such words in my mouth again and I will we be done with you.

Why does it qualify you to discuss this otherwise? My draft number was in the 200's so I was never called. Does that mean I have no standing to discuss the topic of war or something? How about this my two Marine sons (one a Mustang who served 34 years and retired a Major the other a medical retirement after 8 years for injuries received and Marine daughter in law who all spent multiple tours in Iraq staring with the first war there, Afghanistan, Turkey, Sudan, Somalia and various other hots spots around the world there were months long periods when I hung two Blue Star flags in my window going to bed at night hoping and wishing it would never be a Gold one. Maybe that scores me some points with you since I never served.

    Defending???????

There is a large Muslim population just north of Down Here, and they have not made one move to grab any part of it.

Your map makes my point very graphically.

Then you think wrong. The civilians in Gaza are in the war zone because they have refused to heed repeated warnings and opportunities to get out. They are being killed because they remain in proximity of their terrorists, brutal butchers who are their own leaders and don't give a damn if their people are killed- and probably want it, because they use it as a weapon to pressure Israel. That's beyond question to any honest person. It's now been documented that Hamas uses hospitals for headquarters and safe havens for their troops, and stored weapons there. Now- YOU KNOW THOSE THINGS.
So I have to ask why you want to give Hamas protection.

The solution is simple. Gaza civilians, heed the warning and get out. Problem solved. Israel warned them. NOT their fault that many civilians didn't listen.

Now if you know how to destroy Hamas without the loss of civilians who chose to put themselves in the line of fire, speak up.

But if you expect Israel to sit back and tell their people there's nothing they can do because the people who gave Hamas power might get hurt- I would say you are a Hamas supporter. That's what they want you to do.... Help them prevent Israel from striking back. I'm sure they appreciate it. Maybe they will send supporters some souvenir pictures of dead Israelis from their next raid or something.

Read the history here. Not just the recent history, because Islam has been seeking the death of all Jews since Muhammad got huffy because the Jews refused to acknowledge his declaring himself the prophet of god, over 1500 years ago. He started a blood feud to kill every one of them that is still part and parcel of the religion he created today. It's that old. That IS the motivation and justification for the Hamas terrorism.

The warnings Israel distributed, by multiple means, told Palestinians in the north and Gaza City to evacuate to the south of the river (Wadi Gaza) in 24 hours... then they held off their assault for more than a week. Gaza is only 25 miles long. The river crosses Gaza north of the center of the strip. For most evacuees, that would be a distance of about 5-6 miles or less. A healthy person can easily walk 10 miles a day, a strong person 20. They had over a week to move about 6 miles. They weren't going to Israel, needed no permission to do this. However, Hamas, their own government, told the the people to ignore Israel's warnings, stay in their homes and not evacuate.... and it took action to physically prevent evacuation where they could.

And that relieves Israel of any responsibility for killing civilians?

What Hamas did is inexcusable. Horrific. The perpetrators deserve to be hunted down and killed. But their actions don’t give Israel free rein to commit their own war crimes.

Pointing that out is not a defense of Hamas.

I've read a few of the recent posts you were responding to.

Get out of Gaza? Where TF are they going to go? The Bahamas??

Go South.... then Israel invades the entire area....

Strangely brilliant if you want to get the bulk of the population in a smaller area, isn't it?

At least you recognize the magnitude of the Oct 7 atrocity. But while that sounds good, it's unrealistic to say that you can be a nice guy in the middle of a dog-fight. You cannot be the only person following the rules.
Hamas made the rules of the fight when they actively chose to kill civilians, including women and children. THEY voided the protection of the "Rules of war" for themselves and any who stand with them.

If you were in any situation with rules- poker game, courtroom, gunfight- and you had to play by the rules but the other side did not, what do you think would happen to you?
That is the situation here. Expecting one side to play by the rules when the other does not... is the way to perpetuate and encourage terrorism.

Israel has not targeted civilians. They declared their intentions in advance, giving Hamas some advantage in order to avoid non-combatant casualties- and asked all civilians to leave. It had no power to make them leave, but gave them the information and ability to make informed decisions. Those who chose to stand on the target when they knew the bombs were coming- made their choice, civilians or not. They chose to stand with Hamas terrorists.

As far as I'm concerned, Israel did the right thing. The people of Gaza CHOSE to put themselves in that situation. Hamas can end it anytime they choose by surrendering.

All people are responsible for their own choices. Hamas chooses to destroy Israel and all Jews. Israel has chosen to destroy the people bent on destroying them- that is self-defense.
