The title says it all. The 43 year old man is going to compete in the coming Olympic games.

How this type of perverse nonsense has become mainstream boggles the mind. I suppose the only answer is that most of the world leaders are simple cowards.

 

My first reaction is of opposition. It completely devalues female sports, in my opinion. But I'm open to hearing opinions of those who think it's acceptable.

It would be like women being allowed to participate in male floor exercise gymnastics. Complete unfair advantage.

 

All women are currently tested for testosterone levels before they can compete however NOW scientists are questioning whether testosterone levels play any part in athletic prowess or strength. they may be testing for something that has no bearing on athletic ability.

As for the legitimacy of testosterone, as a marker for sports fitness, you do know that women do produce testosterone in their bodies, and, in fact, a woman's body needs testosterone to make estrogen? Testosterone is a building block for estrogen. No testosterone no estrogen. Testosterone isn't a male-only thing.

 

He's a man, not a woman. For those who do not understand the difference, you should refer to any basic biology book. He has advantages that women cannot have. Women produce less, on average. They also have lower bone density, different muscle structure, etc. Limiting testosterone in a 43 year old male doesn't undo that completely. It's not even close.
