Yes, that is true in most cases, but the 24 is a national ticket, not just Florida ticket. DeSantis is trailing by 30+ points in some States which have primaries before FL.

I know what '24 is and I know DeSantis is running in Florida. It's one step at a time but just so you know, I'm not a DeSantis fan,

So is this a fictional post because i'm pretty sure there is no law that says "don't say gay"

I've been told it is like "Obamacare".

    I'm cool with that.

Right. No idea why people complain about a nick name for a bill.

I’m guessing you worry more about which team created the nickname. How do you feel about Obamacare, a term not anywhere in the bill? I’m going to guess you have no issues with it.

Obamacare is at least an accurate description of the law as it was Obama's attempt to "reform" healthcare. The Florida Parental Rights Act literally has nothing to do with gays or saying gay. At all. That is literally just a made up lie.

Don't believe me? Read the seven pages act.

You guess wrong. My concern is with the nickname words themselves, not who coined them. Obamacare is not a bad nickname because Obama was the force behind it and it isn't even a negative term. Don't say gay, on the other hand, is a lie designed to spread through the nickname. They aren't the same at all.

lol. And the Patriot Act has nothing to do with patriotism.

Do you recall all the RWs who approved of ACA but disapproved of Obamacare.

It kind of is, though. The law prevents teachers from teaching grade schoolers that some kids have two dads, some kids have two moms, some only have one parent, etc.

So, it's not clear if little Billy asks the teacher how it's possible that Kevin has two dads. She's supposed to say Kevin is lying? The law isn't clear. It does have some frothing at the mouth over all the anal sex and blow job classes it will prevent, though. So, there's that.

The "so called" "don't say gay bill?" YOU'RE calling it that aren't you?

GOOD! Sexual matters should be left to PARENTS to discuss with their kids, not some FREAK teachers in some cases.

Can you quote from the bill to support this claim?

Which polls? If you mean Republican Primary, then you should know that he isn't actually a candidate and is focuses on being the Governor of Florida, where he is extremely popular, after he won in an absolute LANDSLIDE, totally blowing away the laughable useless Democrat! :roflol:

How is it being "obsessed with culture wars" when he is simply just countering the LEFT'S culture war? He didn't start this fight.

It criminalizes instruction about sexual orientation and gender identity, so how is "don't say gay" a lie?

Maybe a more appropriate nick name would be "drive the gay back in the closet". They wanted to add text in the bill mandating schools to rat out kids who were gay and tell the parents about it (which is something many kids do not want their parents to know about).

Me either. But many people don't like lies. I'm used to them in politics. The whole thing is a lie.

I would support a law that would reward people for properly using the word. It meant "lighthearted" and "carefree" for centuries. What exactly is wrong with "homosexual"?

    It isn't lighthearted and carefree.

Some people have obviously have never read the law and are just ginning up more hysteria.

Anyway, it's Florida's business. Do you even live there?

Liberals shriek a lot about democracy but they only respect legislative action that they agree with.

How is the nick name a "lie"?

It's a bill which criminalizes instruction about sexual orientation and gender identity, so the name describes it very well, although I think "drive the gay back in the closet" would describe it even better.

From the text: "prohibits classroom discussion about sexual orientation or gender identity"

I hear lot of people shrieking "it's a lie, it's a lie", basically repeating after the politicians and MSM talking head who say the same, but how is it s "lie"?

According to your argument any nickname is a "lie".

    Yes, I live here.
